“However, as to the above sentence, it is correct about 30% of the time are less.”
OK. Here are some sources to back up my assertion that home educators spend much less time than government schools.
Unfortunately there hasn’t been much research into home education at all, let alone time/ efficiency comparisons between home education and the government schools. (I suppose academia knows what side the bread is buttered on.)
The bulk of the information available at this point regarding home education is anecdotal. If you have any studies available to back up your 30% assertion, I’d like to hear about it.

It’s true - most homeschool students spend only a couple of hours “homeschooling” each day, based on my experience and most homeschoolers I’ve met. Then again, maybe others here have a different experience. Some parents say their children spend four hours on “work”, which still is shorter than the school day, but I think that time period includes the time the student spends grabbing a snack, sitting around thinking, doodling, reading a book... Homeschoolers seem to spend about as much time on actual “homeschool work” as schoolkids do on “homework”. The rest of the day, they’re free to pursue other interests - and that’s where the tricky part comes in - the “free time.” ;-)
