The tolerance shown to Islam is indeed inexplicable.
The incredible irony, hypocrisy is that otherwise they are anti-Christian to the core because the Church impedes on what for them is an intrusion into their lives namely abortion.

But maybe their tolerance of Islam is actually one of diminished expectation, they don't expect the same level of civilized behavior from them in a way that ultimately mocks them because sub-consciously they don't expect anything better from this primitive brutes.
