U.S. Care of Illegal (Incarcerated) Immigrants With AIDS Draws Fire

LOS ANGELES — The U.S. Department of Homeland Security provides inadequate care for illegal immigrant detainees with HIV or AIDS, according to a new report by a civil rights group.

The study by Human Rights Watch concluded that facilities failed to deliver complete anti-retroviral regimens consistently, failed to prescribe prophylactic medications to prevent infections and failed to ensure continuity of care when detainees transferred facilities.

"We found the medical care in three types of facilities, representing nine states, was delayed, interrupted or inconsistent," said Megan McLemore, who wrote the report.

The group says it issued the report to encourage the government to improve the screening and treatment of infected detainees at government or privately contracted facilities that house about 30,000 immigrants daily.

I've been saying for years that AFTER we secure BOTH borders, we should DEPORT ALL ILLEGALS including the incarcerated foreigners. Why should American taxpayers pay to incarcerate & grant medical care to other countries' criminals. It's not like we are flush with prison/jail cells & short on criminals. By doing so we would not only decrease prison/jail expenses throughout America but we would also open up slots for AMERICAN CRIMINALS who are roaming about the country unabated!

Hmmmm---I wonder what standard of care they'd get if they were in prison (or even free) in their countries of origin???

I am vehemently opposed to spending TAX dollars to incarcerate, medicate, educate or feed illegal aliens and MOST especially illegal immigrants who have committed crimes while here UNINVITED.

Illegal Immigrants who have committed crimes, should receive ONLY the care purchased with money received from their HOME country....

After all - it is THEIR citizens needing care, NOT ours.

There are certainly poor nations throughout the world who would be happy to receive a nominal payment to house illegal immigrants under MINIMAL conditions and creature comforts until they can be DEPORTED back to their Turd World origins...

I feel NO compassion to care for bastards who broke into my country, pursued a life of crime against OUR citizens and in the process contracted some damned sexually transmitted disease.

Prison care of AIDS carriers in the US surpasses that available outside prisons in the illegals’ home countries. That means there is an INCENTIVE to come to the US and commit crimes specifically with the INTENT of being sent to prison.
