The older I get the more I think that liberals/secularists project on to the state the attributes of God.
They expect the state to be omniscient—the state knows every thing about everyone.
They expect the state to be omnipresent—the state is everywhere, and able to meet every need.
They expect the state to be omnipotent—the state is able to protect in every situation.
You see this when people are told to wait for the authorities to arrive to remedy any dangerous situation. This mindset stunts initiative and eradicates the whole idea of self-preservation or self-protection.
Miss Assam is testimony to everything polar opposite to the liberal mindset. And far fewer people died because of her actions.
It’s the collectivist mindset. Everybody is supposed to be a specialist. If there’s a shooter everybody is supposed to wait until the specialist in shooters shows up. It negates the idea of the well rounded individual, in which one can teach a class AND put down a shooter. Or cut the head off a snake for that matter.
It's Hegel's fault.
They seek to recreate Eden, never mind the fact that even God failed to make it compatible with humanity.
