Nurses' Union: Cheney Would Be Dead By Now
abc news ^ | 12/11/07

USA Today's 'On Politics' Blog Reports: Newspaper ads published yesterday in Iowa said Vice President Cheney would "probably be dead by now" from his multiple heart attacks if he didn't have federally funded health care that most American's can't get. Even before they were printed, they'd been labeled "outrageous" by Cheney spokeswoman Megan Mitchell.

Showing no signs of backing down from its controversial ads, a spokesman for the California Nurses Association and the National Nurses Organizing Committee tells The Washington Post's The Sleuth blog that it's Cheney and the Bush administration who are outrageous:

"What's outrageous is we have an administration that sits on its hands while we have 47 million people who are uninsured ... This administration has ignored this health care crisis," says Charles Idelson, spokesman for the California Nurses Association and the National Nurses Organizing Committee. "They're indifferent to pain and suffering."

I don't even know how to respond to this idiocy, I really don't.

California Nurses Association and the National Nurses Organizing Committee

Union Clinton backers, that's all.

One can start by pointing out how national health care is a miserable failure everywhere it is practiced.

In that case, you would think that Dems would be opposed to national health care... But they aren’t.

Typical liberal "thought process":

If the government doesn't provide it, you can't get it.

Cheney would be alive because he would have appropriate insurance to cover his needs, or he would pay for the services of his doctors out of his own pocket. (What a novel idea.......)

Cheney was making a lot more money before he agreed to quit his job and turn to public service. I’m sure he had a top health plan and more than enough cash to pay for any health care that was needed.

What utter rot.

Did they say this about clinton when they treated him for various secret maladies?

From what I’ve heard the California Nurses Association is nothing more than the classic Union Thugs. They are fighting every effort to eliminate the nursing shortage. By maintaining the shortage, they are keeping salaries high at the expense of patient’s health (or even lives).

Cheney would "probably be dead by now" from his multiple heart attacks if he didn't have federally funded health care that most American's can't get.

Typical socialists can't understand the concept of a person paying their own medical bills -- which is what Dick Cheney would have done had he not been a Federal employee.

One could also point out the fact that he could probably afford to buy the hospital wing the procedure was done in on top of paying the Dr. out of his own pocket, but that would just p*ss them off even more I think....

Can they at least make their ideology-based whining consistent?

I thought Cheney was a Rich Oil Man. Rich Oil Men can buy whatever health care they need.

Which is it? Is Cheney a Rich Oil Man or is his ability to pay for health care completely dependent on his having a government job?

Well, there is the little fact that Dick Cheney is pretty wealthy and would have been able to pay for his treatment out of pocket... well just so long as he lived in a free country unlike what the Bride of XXX-42 had planned for us.

An exceptionally preposterous claim, given that Cheney obviously has the (hard earned) personal financial capacity to pay for any and all medical care he might benefit from.

Some of these nurses “would probably be dead now” from an Islamic terror attack if not for Vice President Cheney’s role in the war against terror.

Not that there is anything wrong with angering socialists with logic.

I can hear Rush reading this right now using his whiny liberal voice imitation.

Go drive a Yugo off the cliff and do the world a favor Mr. Idelson.

P.S. I didn't know Cheney was campaigning in Iowa.

Paid for by Darth Cheney 2008 /it's still not too late

The Cheneys are wealthy enough to pay for medical needs...or they would be that wealthy if they weren’t donating millions to charity!
Their detractors aren’t fit to wipe the Cheneys’ shoes.
