Absolutely — that’s why I included the date of the poll in the post, as well.

As for Huck, I think there’s a good chance he’ll melt down — but this race has been so unpredictable that that’s complete guesswork. Of course, the unpredictability works both ways — those predicting that Thompson or any other candidate is going to fail are also indulging in complete guesswork. :)

I detest that “compassionate conservative” label.

You and me both. It's not just a label, it's a platitude. And it's not just a platitude, it's a condescending platitude.

Like all platitudes, "compassionate conservative" is a hollow sentiment designed to soothe the simple-minded.

Republicans should take that phrase "compassionate conservative," wad it up, and toss it into hell where it belongs.

“Like all platitudes, “compassionate conservative” is a hollow sentiment designed to soothe the simple-minded.”

And it does! I constantly have to paddle upstream against the stereotype of conservatism that the title creates. Given the opportunity to speak to young people they seem almost amazed when I explain that compassion is an element - a pre-existing quality - of conservatism, not an add-on feature.

The phrase carries water for libs; for years liberals have either directly asserted or implied that they are the ideology of compassion; they are for the poor and disenfranchised and that Republicans (and conservatives) are misogynistic, racist and oppressive of the poor.

Adding “compassionate” in front of the word “conservative”, basically admits that liberals are correct. That Democrats (liberals) are the more compassionate and nurturing of the two ideologies. Hogwash!

I strongly disagree. For obvious reasons LBJs “Big Society” was racist and pandered to minorities, Bill Clinton’s escapades were/are merely a form of hatred of women and,...well, what can you say about the party that supports and advocates abortion and partial birth abortion as a “compassionate” choice?

" Thompson is my choice here in Florida. My entire family will be voting for him in the primary. "
You need to get them and the rest of your relatives to vote for Fred, get as many people as you can to get the word out and support Fred.

Hey ? Cheer Up... Fred is on the upswing now, and things are starting to look good for Fred.
Fred needs all the support he can get, and I know he can beat these phony RINOS.
Just remember the old wise story of the tortoise and the hare.
I admit, I was getting disappointed in Fred and discouraged, but, it looks like Fred has found his footing again and we need to get the word out and support Fred.
