“Have you ever heard him mention he was Chairman of the International Security and Nonproliferation Advisory Board for the State Department at any of the debates? Me neither. Why is that?”

Because that doesn’t mean jack sh*t to voters. They’ll just go “huh?”.

He’s doing what he should be doing right now...emphasizing his loyalty to the Constitution and common sense conservative principles.

Nonsense. That's pre-9/11 thinking there.
Rudy is leading for one reason and one reason only: credibility on terrorism and national security. It's not terribly well deserved, but he is "America's Mayor." If Thompson wants to win (which I actually question quite a bit) then he will present himself as an authority on international terrorism and nuclear proliferation and a credible alternative to Giuliani on national security.

This is where the voters are.
Your failure to see that is the same affliction Thompson's campaign is suffering from.

He needs to come out forcefully as a solid and credible "tough guy" to let people know he's ready, willing, and able to do what is necessary to secure America, not come across like a tired old conservative sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch talking about the way it ought to be.

Do you think Thompson has the experience and background to be credible on national defense? If so, then why don't you think he should be selling it to GOP voters, who consistently rank that as their top issue?

The problem with the Thompson campaign is they seem to have bought into the MSM BS that voters don't think any of the candidates are "conservative enough." That is some truth to that, but they want a post-9/11 candidate first, and a "true conservative" second. That's why Giuliani has been leading all along to the bewilderment of all the pundits. People will only abandon Giuliani if another candidate presents himself as more conservative and equally credible on national defense. Not just one or the other.
