NJ Gun Law Win!
New Jersey Judiciary PDF File ^ | 12/12/2007 | Superior Court of New Jersey

Posted on 12/12/2007 5:34:59 PM PST by Revtwo

The NJ Appellate Division reversed a Somerset County Judge's denial of an NJ Firearms ID Card. The Appellate Court said the Judge acted as a "rubberstamp" of the Chief's denial and that the Judge "...abdicated his obligation to render independent judgment." (See the next to last paragraph in the opinion.)

This decision should put NJ Gun Permit Judges on notice to decide matters for themselves and not just go along with a Chief's arbitrary decision. ( Note: The Somerset County Judge was the trial court judge in Adler vs. Livak which gutted NJ's 30 day time limit to issue permits.)

A fellow in Jersey was denied a purchaser id by the sheriff of Peapack and Gladstone. LOL, that’s horse country. I’m surprised people there even ASK for id cards to buy firearms. Aren’t the inherited ones sufficient anymore?
They should secede from Somerset County, that’s like Colorado being run by people in Boston.

In Peapack, he’s more likely to be a polo player from Argentina than...what you’re thinking.

It was more of an attempt a humor, than anything else...

No offense taken. Hey, he could be a pool boy or something. In Peapack even the pool cleaners are loaded. In more ways than one!
There’s still lots of “country” in Jersey, and lots of gun owners who don’t care a fig for the regulations. Somerset, anywhere north of the densely populated Somerville or the people’s state of Bridgewater, is rural, supremely expensive, and (around Peapack) greener than Ireland. I’m shocked anyone from around there would be caught dead cooling their heels in the county courthouse among the common folk!
