Drunk and missing home, construction worker Juan Carlos Franco stripped naked, broke into a house and tried forcing himself onto a young girl so he would be deported back to Guatemala, police say.
He is jail for now -- in Miami-Dade.
Franco was arrested by Miami Officer Ivan Camilo Monday afternoon on the 1600 block of Northwest First Avenue.
A Miami-Dade Circuit Court judge on Tuesday granted him $57,500 bail. He was still jailed Tuesday afternoon.
According to an arrest report, the girl was in her parent's bedroom when she heard strange noises. She noticed her bedroom light turn on.
Armed with a pair of scissors, she investigated -- and saw Franco emerge from her bedroom, the report said.
Franco said ''he had been watching her for some time and that it was OK, that he was not going to hurt her,'' according to an arrest report. He ``grabbed his genitals and tried to approach the victim.''
The girl pushed Franco, 42, and ran out of the home. Franco was arrested in his nearby apartment.
While police walked him to the patrol car, Franco ``spontaneously stated that he did it because he was drinking beers and wants to be deported back to Guatemala.''
Franco is charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling and lewd and lascivious exhibition against someone under 16.

It should be noted that Guatemalans took over the schlepp work from the Haitians in South Florida about 5 years ago. Whenever I go down to see my parents, I am amazed to see all the landscapers and unskilled construction laborers speaking various Mayan dialects (Quiche, etc.). They don’t even speak Spanish.
Poor fella. Now he’ll have to wait about 20 years to get back to his beloved homeland.
“A Miami-Dade Circuit Court judge on Tuesday granted him $57,500 bail.”
His stated motive for committing the crime was to leave the US, and the judge grants him bail which is presumably done only for people not deemed to be a flight risk. Is this not evidence by itself of judicial incompetence?
Why not just leave.
I guess he wanted a free ride.
True, that scum bag catholic charities built a day labor place for them there, it was on C-span.
Are you talking about the Guatemalan center on West Atlantic Avenue in Delray? I don’t care what many on this site say, both Catholic Charties (liberal lay people) and the clergy of all political stripe “enable” illegal immigration. I once lived in a rectory with some otherwise very conservative priests, and while they were opposed to Islamic immigration, they thought that Mexicans and Central Americans were being “persecuted” by INS (now ICE).
Fine.
I say we help him out.
We'll take him exactly half way, and drop him off.
He can handle it from there.
Or not.
Tie him to the whipping post, give him 30 lashes and a salt water washdown, then send his sorry butt home.
Then load him onto a C-130 and boot him off the lowered ramp at 15,000 feet over Guatemala.
Nope ... I say we put him in the open population in jail and let some other inmate strip down and try and force himself on him, then we let him out after a few years and send him back to Guatemala.
I just can’t quite grasp how one comes to the conclusion that breaking into someones home and attempting to rape a child is a good way to get home. I’m lost for words.
Good grief. Couldn’t he just turn himself in at the nearest ICE office?
But we do deport such criminals. And then act shocked when they sneak in again and have no “record” because they have assumed a new identity.
OK ... But I still don't support sending him all the way back. No more than halfway. Maybe about one third of the way.
By Air, of course. Direct route.
This is another whom Chertoff demands get Amnesty.
I believe that is where they said it was, really tells you how good ice when they can build these places!
Reminds me of the lady convicted of over 300 counts of writing bad checks, was sentenced to a fine of $1200 and she paid with a check......yes, it bounced....
Aahh, Good Plan!
