At this rate, they’ll require shots for homeschooled toddlers. I have nothing against immunizations, but this isn’t the way to do it.

And when the first kid dies from the vaccine, the Government will jump in and help bankrupt the manufacturer of the vaccine.
I watch people get sick every year after getting a flu shot. My ex’s grandfather played golf the day he got the shot, in the hospital the next day, in the ground by weekend.
I’ll take my chances with the REAL bug.

Sorry, don't see the big deal here. When I attended school, I was required to show proof of vaccination for smallpox, polio, and DPT (diptheria, pertusis, and tetanus). No vaccinations, no attendence, period.
If you attend a school paid for by the state, the state has the right to demand certain things. If you don't want to give your kids these vaccinations, send you kids to private schools...problem is most of them require it as well.
As conservative and small government as I am, I believe the state does have the right to impose certain requirements to protect the general population from potentially deadly diseases. I would that we were controlling immigration as we did early in the 20th century where everyone was screened for TB. Now TB which had been eliminated in the US has now become more common and more deadly than it has been in decades.
There is such a thing as being too paranoid of government intervention. This is not oppressive government, this is reasonable precaution and common sense.

I'd rather REQUIRE one Teaspoon of Carlson's Lemon Flavored Cod Liver Oil for EVERY KID, EVERY DAY, administered by the teacher (so the parent's don't have to do it....LOL!)

Mercury Alert.
They're already overburdening kids' immune systems with these toxins.

“New Jersey on Friday became the first state to require flu shots for preschoolers, saying their developing immune systems and likelihood of spreading germs make them as vulnerable to complications as the elderly.”
Hmmm so is NJ forcing the elderly to get flu shots to use state services?

New Jersey does grant an automatic exemption on religious groundsI wonder how the Nazi State Health Commissioner will handle this? Whatever.... New Jersey deserves exactly the government it elects.
By the way, I bet there will be quite a nice underground market for flu certs.

No one in my family will ever get a flu shot. Can parents opt out of such “requirements”?

I’ll safely assume that CA is next.

As a medical professional, I just have to shake my head at this nonsense. If schools simply required all children to use Purell regularly in class, and barred symptomatic kids from school, they would cut all communicable spead by over 95%, and virtually eliminate ear infections in the process.

Not that I’m alleging anything, but it would be interesting to see how many campaign donations NJ lawmakers received from Sanofi, GSK, Roche, et al.

I was taught in public school that the main difference between a communist country and a democratic republic was that in a democratic republic the people owned the government and in communism the government owned the people. I guess the RATs want to switch things around in our nation.
