Must be something in the water there. I grew up 40 miles from Hope and there’s certainly nothing remarkable about the place. In fact it’s a pretty down at the heels typical rural town.

I grew up in El Dorado, Ark. (1945-1954)Also a nice town of about 23,000. We always knew Hope as the “Watermelon Capitol
of the world,” so maybe it is the watermelons. We all loved the people of Hope, except Slick Willy, but I’m all for Mike. Hope another Hope citizen wins. I liked Ike; and “I like Mike.”
