“I am in no way obligated to drive my car at the speed the car behind me wishes to go, further ‘impede’ is a relative term.”

You are obligated to drive your car in a safe and legal manner. In many areas there are ordinances against driving your car excessively slow as this can cause accidents and cause traffic problems.

“One more thing, when one is behind another car, the vehicle in front, most often, has the power, the ability, and the right, if not the justification for controlling the speed of the vehicles which follow, including mine.”

No, you have the power and responsibility for your car and nobody elses.

“She is more than a ‘jerk’. She made noises like an arrogant bigot, and is potentially guilty of assault and battery on a police officer.”

Hang her!!!

“Why would you assume that three officers in a plain car driving slowly through an area full of folks leaving the numerous clubs at two in the morning were doing so for no reason?”

Why would you assume they weren’t? Driving drunk is stupid but the whole idea of having to be undercover to catch a drunk driver is asinine. Sorta like the under cover cops in Dallas who arrested people in a hotel lounge for having a drink.

I see I'll have to go very slowly for you to get it (sorry to impeded your progress...)

In NYC, in Chelsea, at 02:00 hours on a Saturday or Sunday the street is populated with two types of people...folks out clubbing (very often not 100% in tune with their surroundings) and the criminals who prey on them (always 100% focused on their targets of opportunity).

Uniforms in a radio car have numerous patrol duties. Plain clothes in a plain car are called 'anti-crime' and have one focus...keeping eyes on the street without having their vehicle announce them to the world. To do that properly they drive a little more slowly than might please you.

I see you had a choice and decided to be offensive. Smooth move

“Plain clothes in a plain car are called ‘anti-crime’ and have one focus...keeping eyes on the street without having their vehicle announce them to the world. To do that properly they drive a little more slowly than might please you.”

And by announcing they were undercover to the car behind them they kinda blew their undercover? If they needed to drive slowly they should move out of the way and let other cars pass. Or is that too much for the lowly peons to expect from their public servants?

Yep, you’re right. I nominate you for the new anti-crime tsar of the NYPD. The fact that you obviously know nothing about either the city’s streets or police work shouldn’t be a problem.

Works well for the rest of the politicians.

Ping List About Nothing Ping

Jerry: Did you tell Peterman about this?

Elaine: Well, I tried, but he thought it was some sort of cat fight.

Kramer: Cat fight?

Elaine: Ok, why? Why do guys do this? What is so appealing to men about a cat fight?

Kramer: Yeye cat fight!

Jerry: Because men think if women are grabbing and clawing at each other there’s a chance they might somehow kiss.

Kramer: T-t-t-t...

/cut/

Elaine: Would you just keep an eye out for this woman. She’s about ye high and eh, she doesn’t swing her arms when she walks.

Cop#1: What do you mean?

Elaine: Like this...[imitates the walk with her arms hanging.]

[Raquel Welch comes towards her.]

Raquel: What the hell is that? Are you making fun of my dancing?

Elaine: Aren’t you Raquel Welch?

Raquel: You know who I am. Now, what are you doing?

Elaine: Nothing, I wasn’t just moving my arms...

Raquel: That’s it, you are going down.

Cop#1: Ooh, cat fight.

/cut/

[Elaine comes. She has a scars on her face.]

Jerry: What happened to you?

Elaine: Raquel Welch!

Kramer: The woman is a menace.

Elaine: Yeah, I bumped in to her on the street. It got pretty ugly.

Jerry: Cat fight with Raquel Welch.

Kramer: Yey eye ca-catfight.
