I found this beautiful wallpaper picture on Webshots, and would like to ask a question of people familiar with editing...
Is it possible to edit the words out, and just leave the little boy & the black and starry background? That by far is my favorite wallpaper, and if it is possible, I'd love to have both versions to use on my computer.
Unfortunately, I can't contact the person who originally did this, as I do a number of searches for these types of wallpaper. I've searched in a great number of different member's albums, and it would be almost impossible to remember which one this came from.
Thank you so much to anyone who is able to help me with this!
Here's the direct URL:
Hi, I would be happy to do this for you. It would not be hard to do...
How big do you want the final picture to be...1024 x 768? Something to fit on a computer screen?
How nice of you to offer.....
My first thought was yes, and to recommend that you look at the imaging software called “gimp”. However, after looking at the image, it would be very difficult to do and still have a realistic looking sky. There is simply too much text to cover and not much background to “clone” for filling in the blanks. There would be a lot of repeated patches in the sky that would a take some time to smooth out and blend together.
Possible, but not easy. Feel free to try out “gimp”, looking at the “cloning” or “rubber stamp” feature.
Why, in heavens name, would you want to blot out the words. Leave well enough alone.
That size would be perfect ~ thank you!!!
Wants to replace those words with something from the Book of Mormon.
Easy enough to do, But what’s wrong with the words?..........
Absolutely nothing wrong with the words at all! I love that version!
I just want to have the words edited out so I can have BOTH versions to use on my computer.
One wallpaper with the words, and one without them.
(& to the other person who posted ~ No, despite the fact that I’m from Utah, I’m NOT Mormon! LOL!) ;-)
Or, alternatvely, you[or he] could try editing the child out of the wallpaper, and super-imposing it on another picture of the starry sky.
OK, now I understand why several people are questioning it...
Just to clarify a little better ~ I already have the version with the words saved on my computer, and in my Webshots wallpaper program. I’ve used the “words version” many, many times.
This way, I’ll be able to have a version WITH the words to use, and one without.
Sorry if I didn’t make that clear enough...
:-)
Edited here. Uploading now. My take a minute or two to refresh

I took the liberty of adding the Milky Way as a backdrop, and removed the “I’ve been suckin’ on cherry candy” look to the kid’s left hand.
Merry Christmas.
ROTFLMAO!!!
Absolutely amazing job, earglasses!!
FReepers are the best!
