This is another in a continuing series of examinations of the positions of candidates for president, using their own words from their websites. Previously, we published a statement by Rep. Ron Paul. Today, we include some statements from the website of Rep. Duncan Hunter.
Keeping American Industry and Jobs in the U.S.
“American workers are the most productive and innovative labor force in the world. Unfortunately, they are asked to compete in an unfair environment against other workers who make only a fraction of a living wage and are employed by companies that face few, if any, responsibilities to the environment or the long-term prospects of their employees.
"Our domestic manufacturers are forced to compete against foreign companies that benefit from their country’s currency and regulatory regimes. Ominously, China is cheating on trade and using billions of American trade dollars to build ships, planes and missiles at an alarming rate while, at the same time, taking millions of American jobs. I will reverse this “one-way street” with a new policy of fair trade for the American worker."

Duncan Hunter ping!
Jobs are being lost because of UNfair free trade,
and our national security is endangered because our factories have closed because of “free” trade.
Duncan Hunter is the only candidate who grasps and speaks about the link between Unfair trade agreements, job losses, and national security.

Duncan Hunter has been a straight talking, no flip flopping rock solid Conservative during his political career unlike the so called media labeled “front runners”. Duncan Hunter is the only viable candidate for President.
You know, I NEVER thought I would say this; but I would actually like to start hearing Duncan Hunter talk some politics.
We are getting to a point, where the system is requiring political procedure. Delegates, primaries, who is on what ballot, write ins, et al. Some of us are very stuck.

Duncan Hunter just paid a visit to my workplace today and I was able to see and meet with him. He spoke about this very issue, among others and I was thoroughly impressed. DUNCAN HUNTER ROCKS!!!
I agree. He is the right man and he needs to be heard.
Everyone is always talking about real change and taking the country and back and in a new direction. Well, here’s your man.
I agree. I am sick of panty waste politicians that go to Washington and start representing Government rather than the people. No kidding all they do is come home and tell us what the governmeht is doing and they totally forget what the people are doing.
Duncan Hunter will represent us—the forgotten America who works and pays the taxes. He has been there serving our interests for his entire career in congress. I want him as POTUS.

Tell us more about meeting Mr. Hunter today!
We need a minimum of 10 DUNCAN HUNTER ARTICLES PER DAY PLACED ON THE FR BOARD, from now until the end of the primary season or as long as DH prevails. I have been totaling up the Huck, Romney and Thompson daily activity here, and we need to get our own game on.
I commit to finding and posting one a day, if nine or so others here can commit to posting at least one as well daily. Those articles are out there. Lots of positive blog stuff, too.
Let us get the visibility up for Mr. Hunter, at least on FR, to have some impact in those primaries.
For example, you will note that the Popular Search Words section of FR always has " fredthompson". Let us get "duncanhunter" in there, too.

That’s right. He is a man of the people. I know we have a lot of voters for him in Texas.

I think I may have done a post on that.
I’ve admired him for as long as I’ve watched him during this campaign, seen him on TV, and during the debates. For me, it has been a toss-up between Hunter and Thompson, and living in NH, a personal encounter goes a long way for me. I’ve already attended town meetings with Romney and Tancredo, and back in ‘04 I met Giuliani stumping for Bush. But this meeting could tip my vote to Hunter’s favor.
