The suit also names doctors and nurses who treated the alleged victim the night she claimed she'd been raped at a party.

Not sure I'm on board with this part. Depose as witnesses maybe, but sue? Not unless maybe they falsified evidence or something.

When the North Carolina Attorney General declared the three indicted players innocent and he said that there was never any evidence that a crime had occurred.

It appears that certain medical personnel at Duke hospital put out information early on that she had “signs, symptoms and injuries consistent with being raped and sexually assaulted” which allowed the false prosecution to proceed.

“The suit also names doctors and nurses who treated the alleged victim the night she claimed she’d been raped at a party”

I have followed this case closely. SANE Nurse Levicy is a feminist hack who publicly stated that she has never faced a woman who lies about rape. She also repeatedly changed the results (to be in line with Nifong’s new story line). She was essential enabler for the hoax. She also made the report even though only doctor had the right do it. She should probably lose her license for that alone. She is now working somewhere in NH.

One of the nurses did, actually.

Not sure I'm on board with this part.

Medical personnel assumed that she was raped, even though she changed her story back and forth while she was in their care.

Their decision to take her word for it and provide her with medical records that bolstered her claims could well be negligent.

Unfortunatley this a typical tactic of the scum lawyers. Sue everyone and see what happens. The nurses and doctors will likely be released from the suit by the court AFTER they run up huge legal bills with no chance of recovering any of their losses or their good names.

Agreed. Other than do a rape kit and take note of her physical condition what are they being charged with? It’s not their fault if the “evidence” they found came from consensual sex rather than a rape, and from men other than the Duke players. All they could know is what they were told by the woman and perhaps by whoever brought her to the hospital. I find it hard to think they have any complaint against the hospital employees as I know they are usually very suspicious of these rape complaints....they get far too many from girls who’ve been found out by their parents or in some cases by their “significant other”.

Prosecutors ALWAYS over-charge...then the charges are generally reduced, as are the number of people sued in the first place. It always starts out as a “fishing expedition.”

It’s actually a pretty smart way to do things, though. Threaten to sue EVERYONE even remotely involved, see who caves first, see who becomes a Witness for the Defense along the way, see who will turn State’s Evidence and then litigate.

(I’m not a lawyer, but I’ve read nearly every crime novel ever written. Ask me anything, LOL!)
