I’ve been using Vista for two months now with almost no problems. One slight bug in the sleep mode and smooth scrolling but other than that everything works fine and I really like the operating system. However, I haven’t used IE at all nor Outlook Express. I dumped both for Firefox and Thunderbird and haven’t looked back, although I use Yahoo web mail for most of my e-mail as it is secure on Yahoo’s servers. It’s almost as transparent as OE or Thunderbird. Some web sites require the actual IP provider’s e-mail address so I use it when required.

But there is no good reason to continue with IE any longer. Firefox has gotten it right and Thunderbird is just fine.

You're right, but some of the websites I visit will not operate properly except with IE.

BTW, if anyone knows the fix to that smooth scrolling bug when the computer awakens from the sleep mode, please let me know. The only thing that fixes it is to reboot. Otherwise everything else works fine but the scrolling is jerky.

The fix to the IE bug is to stop using it and go to Firefox.
