MEXICO CITY —  The Mexican government reported the results of recent studies on Tuesday showing that 68 percent of Mexicans who migrate or try to migrate to the United States do so without documents and 55 percent of them hire immigrant smugglers.

The report, timed to coincide with the U.N. International Migrants Day, also noted that the Mexican-born population living in the United States increased from about 800,000 in 1970 to more than 11 million in 2006.

In contrast, the report said the immigrant population in Mexico is quite small and has not experienced rapid growth.

If there is no border, there is no United States of America.

Truer words were never spoken.

I would suggest also that since most criminals will usually only admit to fewer than half the crimes that they have actually committed, the actual, true ratio is probably 9.5 out of 10 or more.

I think that many of the Republican Presidential candidates do not truly and fully appreciate the gravity of this situation, nor the voting public's interest in it.

So what's the rule on posting stuff from Fox on FR?

are their articles usually this short?

Almost 30 million people in the United are direct descendants of Mexico migrants, the report stated.

Sigh.. they could at least proof-read a little. It really goes a long way with the credibility titbits and what not. I guess someone at Fox missed their last minute deadline.

Articles from Fox News have to be excerpted.

are their articles usually this short?

No, they are frequently longer.

Fox News was only reporting on what was in the document produced by the Mexican "Government".

If you're taking issue with the numbers or with the grammar, I would suggest that the fault lies with the Mexican "Government", not Fox News.

IT's an invasion, what are our leaders doing about it?

U.S. Constitution, Article 4 Section 4:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"

Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]

1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.

"The majority of Mexicans now living in the United States — 6.2 million — are undocumented..."

Six-point-two?
That might cover California & West Texas.

The really galling thing is that they aren't the least bit ashamed about the flood they're actively sending up here.
They're not ashamed to publish the incredibly number of immigrants they've let into mexico.
Then they describe their minimal growth as "mostly of mexican extraction"
meaning retired wet backs.

“Mexican-born population living in the United States increased from about 800,000 in 1970 to more than 11 million in 2006.”

11 million = 4% of the US population was born in Mexico

“Almost 30 million people in the United are direct descendants of Mexico migrants”

30 million = 10% of the US population came from descendants of Mexican immigrants

Mexico will NEVER get a single tourism dollar from the stoat.

I have no desire to reward a 'country' that treats it's neighbors with such utter criminal contempt.
