Professors in the life sciences recognize the complexity of living systems at a very deep level thereby recognizing that spontaneous generation can’t be responsible.

Agreed.

Personal religious views of candidates is not my criteria at all.

Conservative principals as applied to gubmint is what matters most.

I welcome churches, and would encourage the use of the “Christos” fish on Churches.

Heck, I had one on my truck, but my driving was so bad I decided it was bad advertising.

I have found, however, that the use of the “fish” or a cross or any other type of Christian symbols to sell stuff s indicative of a crook who wants to prey on the good will of Christians.

If he says he is Catholic but then says stuff that is definitely against what the Church says, then I won’t touch himn with a ten foot pole. Relgion is a public matter, not one of personal taste, like chocolate rather than vanilla.

How can they feel demonized? They don’t believe in demons. ha ha

I'll chuckle and say no more.
I don't want someone to think I've demonized them!

I personally am not religious. I do not feel "demonized" at all.

You are right. A lot of our religious rhetoric is a way of connecting with our history and values. You'd have to be a very hard-core atheist to be offended.

There are people who may "push the envelope" of religious rhetoric to a point where people may be uncomfortable, but usually there's no reason for an unbeliever to feel excluded by references to God and religion.

But group self-assertion is becoming more and more important in American. I can identify with the Pilgrims even if I'm not descended from them and don't share their beliefs. But more and more people are encouraged to reject that kind of identification in favor of racial or ethnic or religious or sexual chauvinism.

I am fairly anti-religious when it comes to my OWN life. Nevertheless, if you actually believe that living among American Christians is equivalent to living under the Taliban, you really need to spend a week in rural Iran, to say nothing of much of Pakistan.

I am more concerned about saying they are conservative and then passing legislation that is not.

That is relevant to my life and this nation.

Wether they are pure enough for their chosen faith is not very important in my opinion.

That is why my first choice is Rudy because he can beat the Dems and be a strong Commander in Chief.

A man who can't control his wives, nor disassociate himself from such lovely folks as Bernie Kerick and Jeannine Pirro, can't be trusted to run the country.

Besides, in order to be President, you have to have been born in America. Rudy was born in Brooklyn (and moved to Lawn Guyland as a child), so that doesn't qualify. ;-)

I am not concern about an impurity of doctrine except when they affect policy. Guilani belongs to a church with a long natural law tradition, and he was schooled in it, at least until he went to law school. His views on abortion suggest that he has abandoned much of it, along with the moral theology that is the foundation of the Church’s pro-like position. He has a positivistic view of law, which defers too much to the “ legal process.” and of course to the members of the legal profession.

I am not telling the sheep to vote any way. I don’t do that. I am telling you my choice because of purely political reasons since I am not voting for a minister as my Commander in Chief. The Huck proclaims his Christianity and his policies are populist, socialist and remind me of Jummmy Carter, another self-proclaimed believer who was the worst President of the 20 th Century! BTW, I will support any, any Pub who is chosen by the voters because I do not want a socialist pacifist as my leader. Oh and I have pastored for 20 years, taught the flocks for 45 years. I am a born again Spirit filled one and have no fear that the Lord will tag me with the villainy of the shepherds in Zech. No withering will occur my friend. The Lord loves me with all my frailities. How bout you?

LOL. Say, what would be your perfect ticket for us? The Pubs seem so confused nowadays. Where is the unity?

I am not telling the sheep to vote any way.

Why are you not teaching them to love God with all their heart and all their mind all their strength by applying the whole counsel of God, in this case? -

Ex 18:21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:
or

Pr 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

...I am not voting for a minister as my Commander in Chief.

But the civil magistrate performs the ministry of the sword. They are an institution ordained by God for the application of second use of the law of God.

I am a born again Spirit filled one and have no fear that the Lord will tag me with the villainy of the shepherds in Zech.

Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

...The Lord loves me with all my frailities. How bout you?

The question is not if you are loved by Christ, but how you love him back. Yes we are saved by Christ's grace alone! His grace not only justifies but sanctifies and for His elect changes their status from rebel to son. But as shepherds, we must feed our flock all of the God breathed word of God, we must use it to teach doctrine, to reprove, to correct and to instruct in righteous living that the people shepherded will be completely equipped for every good work (including work as a citizen in a republic). Those good works (although not salvific) are one of the reasons we are God's workmanship.

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

You might consider if your approach is for the Kingdom of God or for the the empire of men.

James 4:4 You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
