ARLINGTON, VA -- U.S. Senator John McCain's presidential campaign today announced that Jon Husted (R-District 37), Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives, has endorsed John McCain for President of the United States.

"We need a leader with the courage to rein in wasteful spending and more importantly, we need a Republican candidate who can beat the Democratic nominee and restore fiscal sanity to Washington," said Speaker Husted. "I believe John McCain is that candidate and I will work to see that happen."

John McCain thanked Speaker Husted, saying, "I am grateful for Jon's support. His fiscally conservative leadership in Ohio, along with his business credentials, makes him an invaluable asset to the people he represents and to my campaign."

Speaker Husted has represented Ohio's 37th District since 2000. In 2005 and again in 2007, Husted's colleagues honored him by electing him Speaker of the Ohio House. In addition, he also serves as the chair of the House Rules and Reference Committee and of the Joint Legislative Ethics Committee. Speaker Husted continues to remain focused on growing the Ohio economy by enacting a fiscally responsible budget that lowers the tax burden on earning and investing in Ohio. Speaker Husted led the legislative effort to reform the tax code and the passage of the most fiscally conservative budget in more than 40 years that included a 21 percent income tax cut -- the largest income tax cut in Ohio history.

Ohio is a RINO state thru and thru, the same state that gave the nation Voinavich and DeWine. The Ohio heads of the GOP only give support and money to RINO’s. If a Ohio repub endorses a national GOP candidate, you know that candidate has to be the farthest left leaning candidate out there!

The Ohio Country Club Republicans have been behind McCain since 2000. Mikey DeWine, who I helped fire last fall for incompetence and stunning arrogance, is McCain’s Ohio campaign committee Chairman.

McCain made a series of appearances in the waning days of the 2006 election cycle on behalf of Mike DeWine, the result was Sherrod Brown won by a staggeringly large margin.
