I remember that episode of The Time Tunnel.

Forty-five years ago when I took an astronomy class, I was quite fascinated by the sunspot cycle of approximately 11 years. There was also a suggested subcycle of 22 and 88 years. Adding the figure 88 to our great dust bowl and depression years, I concluded that the period around 2020 could be very nasty climate wise. Whether or not global warming is real, the sunspot cycles are still with us, so perhaps some advance planning and caution is warranted.

Great news! I’m really proud of Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Oklahoma) for coming out with this report.

I believe this report will give the courage for more scientists to come forward who disagree with Gore’s man-made warming circle of friends at the U.N.

As posted before, I agree that this charade is all about the U.N.’s attempts to gain more power, money, and control. They would love nothing more than to impose an “emissions tax” on all citizens of developed nations to put trillions of monies in their corrupt coffers.

Believe me, the U.N. and Algore hate the truth of this coming forth like cockroaches hate the light.

Nice chart. So the solar trend has been generally upward since the Maunder Minimum (little ice age) except for a period around 1800 which also happened to coincide with the great Tambora eruption, which didn’t help.

Even if it is only the sun, not man, we will still need more fuel for heating and cooling since construction and buildings use twice the power of transportation. So lets develop every alternative we can and cut those Mussies off at the knees.

One measure that I favor but have seen little emphasis on is superinsulation, of which straw bale construction (check Google for lots of info) is the cheapest and most universally available, especially in big growing economies like China and India, which are moving to surpass our own use of energies. Of course, straw bale construction will not get a lot of support from industry as there is little money to be made from it. Most value would go to farmers, home and building owners, and in high-end countries to architects. Not exactly your strongest lobbies.

The company that produced that training would love nothing better than to see all lumber companies out of business. How odd.

It is partly a function of our market. We operate in an area (coastal California) where people with political power put as many constraints on new construction as anywhere in the country. So making nice to econazis might be seen as a defensive tactic. Our marketing is designed to exploit our Greenness. Beyond that, I agree, it is odd.

But that once again is a historical belief. You can’t present any “proof” that they are wrong. You can say that your carbon dating and other explorations indicate an old earth, but you can’t prove they do.

It’s like seeing a pencil on the floor. A FACT is that the pencil is on the floor, and if you look at the pencil and say “there is no pencil on the floor” you are ignoring facts.

But if someone says “gravity caused the pencil to fall off the table”, and someone else says “no, someone placed the pencil on the floor”, unless you get to OBSERVE the event yourself, you can’t say for certain which is true.

Even if there are thousands of pencils on the table, some perilously close to falling, and the pencil on the floor matches them, it’s still possible that all the pencils were placed there by someone.

That’s why I see historical “conclusions” as fundamentally different from observable facts.

“Anthropogenic (man-made) global warming bites the dust,” declared astronomer Dr. Ian Wilson after reviewing the new study which has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Geophysical Research.

Another scientist said the peer-reviewed study overturned “in one fell swoop” the climate fears promoted by the UN and former Vice President Al Gore.

Saw this *lady* on C-Span the other morning. She works for CAP (Soros)

She said scientists had looked at ALL the possible causes for GW and unanimously agreed it was caused by humans. She is an excellent (unalterable) mouthpiece for ALGORE and the GW conspiracy.

Hey, I could use that “Global Temperature and Solar Activity 1600-1990 AD Compared”. Do you have an original source for it?
