Was Ed Rollins supposed to lie about the fact that the voters will decide?
Your supposed to say that religion is out of bounds and not up for discussion, then you slime the other guy behind the scenes.
There are many ways Rollins could have answered the question. As two old pros he and Matthews knew exactly what was going on. Rollins could have said “we don’t think it should be an issue.” Substitute “black” for religion and consider how Rollins answer would appear.
