Mauro endorses (Hillary) Clinton for President-(Iowa's Chief Vote Counter/Sec. Of State)

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Iowa Secretary of State Michael Mauro has endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Mauro made his announcement Wednesday at an event in Des Moines, according to a Clinton campaign statement. He says the New York senator stands out among the other candidates and doesn't have a "learning curve."

Clinton says she admires Mauro's commitment to education and that he understands the need for change in Iowa.

I saw the article regarding your endorsement of Senator Clinton. It is a shame that Hillary has not made full disclosure to you about the case in Los Angeles Superior Court in which she will be testifying before the election. The California Supreme Court will decide, probably by late January, whether she joins her husband as a defendant. During discovery, Hillary's involvement in the solicitation and participation of an illegal hard money, in-kind donation of at least $1.2 million will be revealed.

The FEC ruled in Dec. 2005 that the campaign hid over $700,000. When ordered to file a fourth amended report, the campaign reported another fraud in Jan. 2006. A US Attorney's office withheld video evidence while official investigations were proceeding and a criminal trial took place of Hillary's campaign finance director. Just because the NY TIMES and WASHPOST have not informed you, it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Also involved in the solicitation were her agents, Kelly Craighead and Jim Levin. As a White House employee and not part of any joint fundraising committee, Craighead was not allowed to be involved in directly soliciting a donor to pay for an event that cost over a million dollars.

On tape, you will hear Hillary telling the donor that Craighead has kept her completely briefed. Hillary offers her help and says that "Kelly" will convey what she needs. On tape, Hillary admits to being involved with the solicitation of Cher's performance at the Hollywood Gala. That was all illegal and a major campaign finance felony.

The Republicans are well aware of this case and have been following it carefully. They have been hoping that the timing works out to be able to use it after Hillary is assured of the nomination and their machine can use it for maximum damage.
