DEERFIELD BEACH -- Broward County authorities say a man is been charged with murder following a road rage confrontation that resulted in his passenger being fatally shot.

Sheriff officials say 43-year-old Steven Lonzisero and another man approached a driver last week, accused him of driving poorly and shouted racial profanities.

That driver, 49-year-old Hygens Labidou, fired several shots from his legally permitted handgun. He struck Lonzisero and his passenger 28-year-old Edward Borowsky.

Why is Lonzisero and not Labidou charged with murder?

Huh? Two punks go up to legally carrying driver trying to start something. Legally carrying driver shoots them. One punk dies and the other punk is charged with murder???

Lonzisero is being held on $15,000 bond. He faces charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill. Authorities say he also may face hate crime charges.

This article doesn't make much sense.

Lonzisero....He faces charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill.

A very poorly written article.

If Lonzisero is being charged with assault with a deadly weapon, I would assume he was carrying also and threatened the driver since he was also charged with assault

I’m guessing that Lonzisero was the instigator of the fight (and crime) and as a result of his stupidity, his passenger is dead.

Like the bank robbery scenario and 1 thief is shot and killed. The other thief is charged with murder.

It doesn’t make sense, unless they approched the driver with guns drawn....

It would seem that the two approaching the vehicle were in the commission of a crime. Here in Ohio, if you do that and your accomplice is killed, you can be charged.

A very poorly written article from the lame msm, very unclear as to what happened.

Seems to me though that it is a clear cut case of self defense, but the msm doesn’t want it to appear that way.

It might be the legal caveat that if a person causes or incites the death of another he is the one held accountable for the act. Didn’t think it was the case for FL.

There seem to be some misplaced modifiers in this story. I don’t think I understand it.

If I'm the guy in the truck, I think I'd call 911 and then shoot rather than the reverse.

Personally I would have called 911 and then pulled the gun and told them to back off. I'm not really buying this guy's self-defense story.

I think it is pretty much a nationwide legal caveat

Ex: The driver of a getaway car is just as guilty as the guy who pulls the trigger who guns down a bank guard

If someone dies during the commission of a crime in Florida anyone with the criminal can be charged in their death. This happens regardless of how the co-criminal died. Car accident, slip and fall, homeowner self defense, or anything else.

No, it doesn't. I don't know what they teach people in journalism school these days, but it can't be much.

I think I'd call 911

How many crimes does 911 stop?

I think the cops would have found a badly beaten or dead victim

Better story and the shooting sounds legitimate based on this story.

I am. The guy charged with murder is one bad dude. It's a shame he didn't die too.

A better account but this still sounds like a Babelfish translation.

" use his legally-permanent handgun "

I looked twice to be sure this happened in the US.
