Before you Mittbots throw a fit, this one has some new news in it.
"I'm an English literature major," he insisted at one point. "When we say I saw the Patriots win the World Series, it doesn't necessarily mean you were there."
Who knew?

" 'Again, you can decide to hyper-analyze a word and
try and create an impression that would not be accurate,' he responded."
English Lit major! He could have had a journalism major!

I looked inside a car with one of these stickers on the bumper and didn't see Fred. Thompson is making a liar out of anyone who buys his merchandise.

Romney: "But the overall thrust, the overall meaning of the story is very accurate."
Fake but accurate! What's The Frequency!

So is it OK for me to say:
"I saw Mitt lie" even though I wasn't there in person?
:-)

Not a lie, but if you call me on it: overblown rhetoric. If you don’t, why, I cradled his head in my arms in Memphis . . .
“Wherever there’s a fight so hungry people can eat, I’ll be there. Wherever there’s a cop beating up a guy, I’ll be there. I’ll be in the way guys yell when they’re mad. I’ll be in the way kids laugh when they’re hungry and they know supper’s ready. And when people are eating the stuff they raise...living in the houses they build...I’ll be there too.” Tom Joad, “Grapes of Wrath
Whenever Pizza King has a two-fer coupon on their pan `Royal Feast’ . . . . I’ll be there.

His Dad Marched in a civil rights march in Detroit that occurred at the same time as King's March in Selma, and it was supposed to be in solidarity with the King march. Mitt was a kid and he saw it on TV.
Whether it was in the same city as King's march strikes, or whether he saw it on TV or in person, strikes me as an insignificant detail.
More nonsensical anti-Mitt nit-picking.

"When we say I saw the Patriots win the World Series, it doesn't necessarily mean you were there." Too funny. I understand the mistake but that's the kind of thing that makes a Joe Six Pack like me wince. It's also certain to make a lasting home in the list of stupid sounding things said by famous politicians.

I just ran across this, I didn't see it before now.
Quite interesting.
This is a strange article.
Romney is quite slick, I wonder how many of this type of subtleties have been thrown out there.
If no one catches them, they stick.
If they are caught they can be spun.
He's pretty slick.
