People who care about the border and have backed Tancredo in the past are some pretty involved people. They know what’s going on. This endorsement will garner Romney one new vote. And evidently Tancredo will be happy to give it to him. I won’t.
Duncan Hunter and Fred Thompson deserve this vote. And one of them will get mine.
Very disappointing.
Romney is squishy on the borders and a lot of other important issues.
Maybe Romney offered him a job, win or lose?
He makes a good point.
“Conservatives who meet Romney endorse him. The DNC has attacked him more than any other candidate.”
Some people in this forum (who support the CFR guy with ultra liberal record with Kennedy and Feingold) work together with DNC and DailyKos and spread the same BS stories about Romney.
Conservatives, by and large, support Romney. Bork, Tancredo etc great americans and know what they are talking about.
We should all be thankful for Tancredo. He raised the profile of illegal immigration and now everybody opposes amnesty. His work was valuable.
I’ll keep saying (and typing) this about Romney...
In 2004, we hammered Kerry for appearing arrogant, being a flip-flopper and prone to putting his foot in his mouth. So now, why is it suddenly OK for the GOP to nominate a candidate with those same characteristics?
In his own words:
“I supported Romney,” Tancredo said later on Fox News Channel. “I had an interesting and lengthy discussion with him this morning about his plan. I believe it’s viable. I believe he’ll stick with it, and he’s got the best shot.”
“He has a solid record that matches his rhetoric,” said Tancredo, who turned 62 yesterday.
There is much too like about Tancredo. With this wise endorsement, I like him even more. Time for some others to drop out and follow Tanc’s lead.
HMMM very interesting on the face of it it doesn’t change my opinion of Mr. Romney. Now if Romney were to say that Tancredo would be in charge of immigration and border enforcement in a Romney administration or say Homeland security that would at least get my attention
Tancredo endorsed Romney, so did the National Review. I have been wavering between Fred and Mitt...gave some $$ to Fred, none to Mitt. OTOH, Mitt has executive branch experience...needless to say, I will be watching the next debate closely.
Why I toss out my core principles and endorse a liberal, by Tom Tancredo, a former conservative.
That has been the pattern.
He's not a conservative.
This is what you get when you hitch your wagon to any politician's star. His one issue, and he pissed it away....
