I agree. People are reading too much into this, IMO. What’s he supposed to say, “My principal opponent would SUCK as a VP?” How do you think that would go over with the press?

You are right. They usually say complimentary things about one another. However, if Mitt is at the top of the ticket it does not sweeten the deal for me if Huckabee is his running mate. I would rather see Fred Thompson as VP with Romney. Or another real conservative. Perhaps a new fresh face like Rep. Mike Pence. Or if they need someone from the deep south, I like Gov. Sonny Perdue.

Exactly. This is politics and he was just being polite. He doesn't want to offend all of those who may still support him. There are probably many fence-sitters who might be leaning towards Huck, but know in the end Mitt has a much better chance of winning the nomination. Why turn those people off? Wouldn't be prudent.

I personally think Huck would be a terrrible president and a terrible VP, but I am not running for president. If I were, I'd phrase things differently. Something about appearing presidential and all....
