Shirley Basore, 72, says she was sitting in the hairdressers chair in wealthy Grosse Pointe, Mich., back in 1963 when a rumpus started and she discovered that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and her governor, George Romney, were marching for civil rights right past the window.
With the cape still around her neck, Basore went outside and joined the parade.

Once again, a shameless attempt to trash Romney based on specious, twisted, or incomplete information is shown to be utterly without merit - just the latest in a long line.
The anti-Mitters need to have this shoved in their faces. Hard.
We’ll see how long it takes for these eyewitnesses to be called senile or bought-off.
Bump.
Yeah if Shirley whoever says so I guess it’s true.
The article quotes two old geezers who now claim they saw Romney marching side by side with King. This is not corroborated by contemporary news reports. Even the Romney campaign admits that George Romney never marched with King, though he did appear at an event in Grosse Pointe six days after King had been there. ‘Tis all.
Get stuffed.
It’s a story so true, Slick Willard AND his campaign made seperate, awkward, clumsy efforts to backtrack from the claim.
Now, conveniently, there are witness.
Anybody believe that, stand on your head.
Never knew until today that Romney’s father was governor of Michigan. There should be archived newspaper stories on this, if he marched with MLK while he was governor.

Well, Romney is a frontrunner, so it’s reasonable to expect attacks on him. This is nothing compared to what Romney will face when he goes up against the Clintons in the national election. This is good preparation for the upcoming battles.
You don't get it. Romney is not a Baptist minister so he must be evil.
Jane Fonda is an elderly woman too but I won’t play the race card.
So was Mitt was definitely lying, either when he said Dad marched with MLK, or when he retracted the statement and said Dad didn’t march with MLK.
Ann Marie Curling also does a great job of debunking the Phoenix lie over at CoMITTed to Romney. She also cites to a source I forgot to include, where MLK was happy with Romney running for President (as well as other progressive Republicans like Nelson Rockerfeller
The snakes, blowfies, and other assorted vermin are arriving in force to defend their slanders.
No doubt there are pictures and stories. He was also president of American Motors (Nash Rambler autos.)
if it’s Hillary and Rommney...the liar card is off the table
neither will be able to use it.
