Such vitriol.
I don't suppose any other Presidential candidate on the Republican side wants to use the government to "force us" to do what they think is best? Some want to build a fence on the border - because they think it's best for the people; some want to have a different tax code. I'm not sure what you think Huckabee would do that is so out of bounds.
I have never seen a Republican candidate for President who has been so bitterly attacked by the punditry. They fear the evangelicals might take over the Republican party, and all of their cherished issues - strong military, taxes, etc. would then take a back burner to the evangelical issues. Oh no!
Maybe the evangelicals will have a third party, and then we can all say: "Minority party for Eternity."
Goldwater...Nixon...Reagan...apparently you haven't been around much.
Look at Huckabee’s record:

Club for Growth.Net Increases Ad Buy In Iowa — Again
http://www.clubforgrowth.net/2007/12/ad_buy_increasedagain.html
Washington - Today, Club for Growth.Net increased its advertising buy in Iowa, adding an additional $175,000 to the effort and bringing the total ad buy to $550,000 over three weeks.
“Entitled ‘United,’ the ad seeks to educate the public about Mike Huckabeeâs many tax increases and urges taxpayers to call the governor and challenge him on his tax policy,” said Club for Growth.Net President Pat Toomey. “While the former governor has repeatedly argued that he cut taxes 94 times, the ad demonstrates his willingness to raise taxes, with his tax increases far surpassing his tax cuts.”
Mike Huckabee’s support for tax hikes includes:
1996 Sales Tax Hike: Huckabee campaigned for an amendment to raise the sales tax
1999 Gas and Diesel Fuel Tax Hike
2001 Cigarette Tax Hike
2001 Nursing Home Bed Tax
2002 Grocery Tax: Huckabee opposed repeal
2003 Income Surcharge Tax
2003 Tobacco Tax Hike
Taxes on Internet Access
2006 Beer Tax: Huckabee opposed letting the tax expire
The $175,000 ad buy will run on broadcast TV and statewide cable in Iowa. The ad will also continue to run on statewide cable in South Carolina.
