WASHINGTON -- Supporters of Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential candidacy are privately blaming aggressive campaigning by Bill Clinton for her recent decline in Iowa's pre-caucus polls.
In their opinion, the former president's strong defense of his wife pushes the contest for the Democratic nomination toward what Hillary Clinton wanted to avoid: a referendum on the Clinton administration, making her a symbol of the past rather than an agent of change.
A footnote: Democrats close to Bill Clinton blame Mark Penn, Sen. Clinton's chief strategist, for her decline. They grumble that Penn, a professional pollster, relies too much on polls.

Oh, goody! The Democrats are beginning to eat their own!
That’s all there is in the article about the Clintons. Some other notes from Novak: McCain is rooting for Huckabee to win in Iowa so Romney will lack momentum going to New Hampshire where McCain hopes to get crossover votes to jumpstart his campaign (like he did to Bush in 2000). Also, David Keene of the ACU (the ratings often cited for who’s conservative and who’s not) has chosen Romney over Thompson. While the ACU, itself, does not make political endorsements, chalk this up as one more conservative who has passed over Hunter and Thompson to endorse Mitt.
Hitlery’s fault?
The irony is that if Hillary fires Penn it's because she thinks she needs a better pollster.
I heard Hilary tell some interviewer the other day that she didn’t pay attention to polls; well, of course not, she has Mark Penn do that for her. She thinks we’re all brainless, but she’s basing that on who actually votes for her.
It will never occur to them that many people just don't like her and him.
We are already suffering Clinton-Overload in this endless campaign.
They have already been in our faces for 16 years and that is 16 years too long.
SMARTEST WOMAN ALIVE
It seems the Clinton campaign has gotten a clue. Who in their right mind would want to run on Bill Clinton’s record? Even given the good things like his signing of the balanced budget amendment and welfare reform the rest is like some never ending nightmare of political scandal, suicide, and women coming out of the woodwork claiming he assaulted them or propositioned them for inappropriate sex. Then there are the enemies lists, fbi files, travel office dismissals, and ornaments made out of condoms on the White House blueroom Christmas tree.
Bill needs to be put in a closet somewhere. If I were Obama I’d make this statement, “It is time to rise above the finger pointing of the past and forge ahead with a Presidency built on honor and dignity.” No one even Clinton supporters could stand up to that kind of assault straight faced. Do Democrats really want to return to power the same individuals who presided over the biggest defeat of the Democratic party in over 50 years?
Obama isn’t going to be an easy candidate to beat. Especially if he is put up against the Outer Limits Candidate Mitt Romney (The outer limits of religion, the outer limits of universal health care spending, the outer limits of global warming) or the Gomer Pyle candidate (who ‘Shazzam’ actually raised taxes more than Bill Clinton, who ‘Shazzam’ pardoned more violent criminals than Michael Dukakis, and ‘Shazzam’ supported in state tuition for ‘illegal aliens.
Hillary can’t tout “EXPERIENCE” with Bill one stage and not have here roles as designer of a National Health debacle and enabler of a sexual predator to be the first thoughts on people’s minds.
They grumble that Penn, a professional pollster, relies too much on polls.....Didn’t we have government by polls for eight years?
Yeah, this from the guy that checked polls to see where to go on vacation.
People remember what these dumbasses turned the WH into the last time they took over and they are not going to put
up with it again. Hillary is just not likeable, and Bill is a true idiot in his lust for lust. One is like a asqwaking bird that won’t shut up, and the other is like
Uncle Chester.
Sinkmeister is a LOSER. Almost everyone he campaigned for in 2004+6 lost.
Correct me if I'm wrong ... didn't Hildabeast remark (earlier this week) that she didn't pay any attention to polls? Bill & Hill the two most poll and focus group driven individuals in politics and (at least for that moment) not interested in polls ... maybe only unfavorable ones.
ironic:
without bill, hill’s nothing.
with bill, hill’s nothing.
maybe bill will
go fer
jamie lynn spears.
Excuse me, but you are black!
