KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Former President Clinton has donated the saxophone he played at his inauguration to the American Jazz Museum.

The attraction is part of the historic 18th and Vine district, where musicians often play into the early morning at an old union hall called the Mutual Musicians Foundation.

"Though he may have been unable to hang in a jam session at the Mutual Musicians Foundation, he is the only leader of the free world to be a jazz musician, and I know he would have loved the chance to sit in on a set," Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., said in a statement Thursday announcing the donation.

Cleaver also said the federal budget just passed by Congress includes $312,000 for the museum to spend on education programs, new exhibits and the restoration of its collection of jazz films.

The saxophone, which is expected to be handed over in a public ceremony Friday, had been in the collection of Clinton's presidential library in Little Rock, Ark.

Now if he would just donate himself to the dust bin of history.

Bill Clinton has the playing talent of a 1st year school band saxophonist. Perhaps I should donate my old Pop Warner jersey to the Football Hall of Fame.

Now he’s a jazz musician? Give me a break. I hate that the Clintons have to be everything: musicians, great skiers without lessons, smartest people in the universe. Every day is another day to pat themselves on the back about how wonderful they are.

Exactly - he’s a mediocre player at best - and a hack in reality.

I have to take my hat off to Bubba as a sax player. I think he might actually have been the first President who was literally so horny he honked.

Now he’s a jazz musician?

People call Kenny Gorelick one, so why not Clinton?

I used to say I took my screen name because of Bill 'Bad Tone Out Of Tune When In Doubt Trill I Won A Medal In High School' Clinton. Something like that.

I also said Bill Clinton was the second worst thing to ever happen to the saxophone. Kenny G was the worst. My teacher differed; He thought anything that brought more popularity to the saxophone was good. I strongly disagreed.

My new favorite band, or at least my new favorite band name:

The Dead Kenny G's

Cool, nice to see there is another freeper here that hates Gorelick as much I do. I have been know to go to stores and make his albums harder to find by flipping over the big name tag that shows where his albums are so it is blank. Or turning his albums around so you can’t see his face or his name in big print. I also hide them behind real jazz albums.

Hope they disinfected it first!

Does the museum have an autoclave.

Slick will probably use this as a $20 million tax deduction.
