Washington, DC Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada today issued the following statement at a press conference with Lt. General Robert G. Gard, Jr. (USA, Ret.) and Brig. General John H. Johns (USA, Ret.):
"Today, in the fifth year of this civil war, U.S. forces are suffering losses at a rate not seen since the bloody battle of Fallujah over two years ago and there is no end in sight. Yet the President and the Vice President continue to desperately cling to their failed escalation strategy and attack those who disagree with them.
"The American people, a bipartisan majority of Congress and senior military leaders, including these two distinguished officers standing next to me, have all called for a change of course in Iraq. But President Bush and Vice President Cheney refuse to listen. They are isolated in their thinking and are failing our troops and our country.
"Congress is committed to fully funding our troops, changing the course in Iraq and responsibly ending the war. When Democratic leaders sit down with the President this Wednesday we will be bringing with us the concerns of the American people and the advice of military experts.
"The President has a choice to make in the coming days - cling to the discredited policies that have led our troops further into an intractable civil war or work with a bipartisan majority of Congress to make us more secure."
It is really sad when you have an alledged leader which you did not elect as a leader that would destroy your’s and his country.
...the surge certainly hasn’t hurt. It’s helped. I recognize that’ -— Sen. Harry Reid, 12/21/07
BUMP!
What? The last I heard that the vast majority of Americans want us to win the war and they are committed to destroying radical Islam that is terrorizing the world. Where have these RAT nut cases been.
this is better than an al queda press release.
Science has methmaticlly predicted the existance of other dimensions of existance beyond our third...
Here is your proof...
Where is Buckaroo Bonzai when you need him?
The last quarter of 2007 will be the lowest casualty rate of any quarter since the war began. He's like Bill Clinton. He lies even when he can be disproved immediately. Politicians say stuff like this on Saturday so that their buddies can go on talking head shows on Sunday and say: "You know, Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader was quoted yesterday......". It has worked many times but only when there is SOME truth to the statement.
PLEASE, sweet people of the Great State of Nevada, vote this schmuck out! You can put the Yucca Mountain stuff in my garage in return. (It would be safe from terrorist there. No one can find anything in my garage).
“Today, in the fifth year of this civil war, U.S. forces are suffering losses at a rate not seen since the bloody battle of Fallujah...”
Losses this month are running behind November which was actuall the lowest in two years. Simply put, Reid is lying. And his butt kissing, military hating “Generals” are lying too if they gave him that information.
Harry Reid is not only a traitor to the United States, but he’s a traitor to the left-wing moonbat nutcase anti-war crowd in the Democratic party, ha ha ha! Nothing like having all sides firing upon ya at once!
And Hillary would be John Bigbooty.
The following is taken from a recent interview with Newsweek and Pakistan’s president:
-NEWSWEEK: You see the U.S. discussing withdrawing from Iraq. Does this mean America pulls out of this region again?
MUSHARRAF: Unless there is an arrangement where you don’t create chaos and destabilize this whole region, it would be a mistake.
NEWSWEEK: You mean withdrawing from Iraq would be a mistake?
MUSHARRAF: Yes, if there were a sudden withdrawal. Either make some arrangements where there is a continuity of effort to bring sanity and democratic government into Iraq and ensure the integrity of Iraq. If we [just] leave, I don’t know what will happen there.
Victory....so easy the quasi-dictator of a backwards Islamic nation can figure it out.
So what’s up with Congress?
