excerpt:
A head-on collision Friday night on Route VV at Wildwood Street
injured one motorist and resulted in a four-hour search for
the other driver, who was later identified as an illegal immigrant.
(big snip)
Meyers (of the Missouri Highway Patrol) said experiences such
as the one he had Friday night, going house to house to find
evidence of someone without proper documentation, has opened
his eyes to the magnitude of the immigration problem in Mid-Missouri.
"Youd be surprised. We noticed just a few years back we
were regularly coming in contact with undocumented people in
the community. Now its daily," he said.

Text above is an excerpt, as I don't know the policy for The Columbia
Tribune.
I've just posted this to support my common comment that when
I left Los Angeles (North Mexico City), the swarm followed me
to Mid-Missouri.
(NO Flames please; I'm all for regulated, sane LEGAL immigration,
and my dislike for illegals an equal-opportunity approach!)
But there is hope. Missouri Governor Blunt (R) is putting four
anti-illegal laws.
And our Democratic Attorney General has learned from watching
Senator Claire McCaskill (D, MO) who has garnered bi-partisan support
for standing against illegal immigration; she was a Demo that
voted against the last try for "comprehensive immigration reform".
She didn't have to switch her vote to "Nay" like one dithering
Republican now nicked-named "Senator Switchback".
Thus our Demo AG is putting forward his initiatives for
cracking down on illegals.
Illegals fleeing Arizona and Oklahoma should just head for
places like Los Angeles and New Haven, CT.
Missouri is not putting out the welcome mat.

The Missouri Trooper should ask one of his buddies who patrols the Milan, MO area about illegals. They've nearly taken over the city and county in northcentral Missou.

A head-on collision Friday night on Route VV at Wildwood Street injured one motorist and resulted in a four-hour search for the other driver, who was later identified as an illegal immigrant.I'd guess that for every wreck involving illegals, they are going to flee the scene every time unless they are incapacitated or caught immediately. This is a fact of life.

Good to hear the issue is at least under discussion in Missouri. Here in California it's considered a settled matter that as many illegals as possible should come into the state. Still, "initiatives" won't get the job done any better than appointing a "blue ribbon committee" to undertake a "10-year study."
At this point, action (ie. building the fence completely, finding and deporting ALL illegals and enforcing the law zealously) is all that counts. But don't hold your breath waiting for this.
Government will never address this problem, because government does not want it addressed.

My first trip to the DMV in California (the Cloverfield office
bordering Santa Monica) was memorable not just for the mile-long lines.
The guy next to me said he was there to tag his new car...his old
car had been totalled when "someone" in an old truck rear-ended his car,
carrying both vehicle off the highway.
He said the last he saw "of the other guy" was his backside as
he set a new record for cross-country running.
As a newbie to CA, I didn't grasp he was very likely not
just talking about someone without insurance, but also an illegal.

That guy's experience is very common here. We will all be paying for this with higher insurance premiums and much higher taxes.
From the viewpoint of our elected officials, these illegals make the ideal citizens. The are ignorant, docile and used to being told what to do. They are nothing like real Americans, free Americans. That's why government intends to replace us with them.
To: Mogollon
We're hoping that happens, it remains to be seen. From everything that I've read, it's already working and the law hasn't even gone into effect yet.

I am looking at this (Pledge allegiance to the flag) and asking myself if a day will come when the people get so fed up with the treasonist (born without fathers) in our government allowing their sovereignty to be run over time after time on the Southern Border that they say to hell with the Pledge! One Nation under Invasion from Mexico!
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and Jeorge Bush comes to mind.
Heck! You don’t need the RATS to allow terrorist into the USA undetected you have republicans doing it.

Vote for Hillary or Obama so Mr. Duran can come out of the shadows for his SSI and welfare benefits.
I understand that Drunks now get SSI payments. When Government pays for something, we get more of it.
Now, why is the dollar going down the tubes? Confused...

On first impression, I'd agree.
BUT this quote is a good thing for two reasons:
1. It shows LEOs here know of the problem and actually feel comfortable
to give out any sort of quote, especially as Columbia, a university
town has a lot of "sanctuary city" sympathies.
AND
2. The quote and the story appears in The Columbia Tribune, which
does lean in favor of illegals...mostly by NOT reporting the
big influx of (putative) illegals in the last couple of years.
I get the feeling The Columbia Tribune has watched Democratic
Senator McCaskill get plaudits for her anti-illegals stance
even from middle- and right-of-center people even in Columbia.
This reportage is a BIG "right turn" for The Tribune as they seemed
to be mum when we "just happened" to have a 64% rise in auto thefts
in the summer of 2006 when a minor tsunami of (putative) illegals
hit town in roofing crews to fix damage from a March 2006 hail storm
(and tornado?).

Yep, but they have to be 'Certified Alcoholics' not just a drunken barfly like most of our uninvited guests from the south seem to be (they have 'Family Values' ya know). Heroin addicts also get SSI. It's been that way for some time now.
As to voting for Hill or Osama - not till monkeys fly out of my butt.
