Target ... killer Sutcliffe after being nearly blinded in a 1983 coffee jar attack
HATED Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe screamed in terror as a knifeman tried to gouge out his only eye.
Evil Sutcliffe, who had lost his left eye in a previous attack, was told: “I’ll blind your f****** other one.”
Crazed killer Patrick Sureda, 41, leapt at him in a dining hall at Broadmoor top security hospital on Saturday, yelling: “You f****** raping, murdering bastard.”

It was the FOURTH savage attack on the Ripper since he was caged in 1981 for murdering 13 women and attempting to kill seven others.
Twenty other patients looked on as Sureda – locked up for strangling his mother – took a metal cutlery knife to Sutcliffe, 61, during lunch on Dorchester Ward in the Berkshire hospital.
The Ripper desperately flung himself back in his seat and the blade went in half an inch below his right eye, then bounced off his cheekbone.
As Sureda attempted to stab him again four nurses pounced and bundled him away. Sutcliffe clutched his face as he was rushed to safety, pouring blood.
An insider at Broadmoor, which houses some of Britain’s worst killers, said: “Sutcliffe had been talking about Christmas as he sat eating his lunch. Suddenly Sureda got up and went for him in a flash.
“Sutcliffe is a big fat guy now but he reacted in an instant and turned his head. He was going nuts, screaming and shouting.”
Sources said Sureda had boasted to other patients that he was going to blind Sutcliffe.
The Broadmoor source said: “This is the fourth attempt to kill or maim Sutcliffe and his eyes are the target. He has lost one and the other is not really working well.
“A knife through the eye could hit the brain and kill.”
Medics decided Sutcliffe did not need hospital treatment. Police were called in to investigate.
Doctors pronounced Sureda a paranoid schizophrenic after he killed his mother in 2000.
He had dubbed himself the “Street Leader of the Tories” and attacked his mum because he believed New Labour had hatched a plot for her to kill him. Last night he was in an isolation ward.
Sutcliffe’s left eye was destroyed and his right damaged when he was repeatedly stabbed with a pen in his room at Broadmoor in 1997 by knife murderer Ian Kay.
The year before, convicted robber Paul Wilson tried to strangle the Ripper with a flex from a stereo.
And in 1983, psychopath James Costello nearly blinded him in Parkhurst jail, Isle of Wight, with a piece of broken coffee jar.
The Broadmoor source said: “Sutcliffe knows people want him dead – or the next best thing, living his life in darkness. He is terrified. He feels scared and alone. He survived being blinded by half an inch and realises he is still the No1 target.”

What a pity that all the “good news from prison” stories seem to be courtesy of the other inmates!
Well, the next time there's an execution here in the USA I'll try to post a thread about it.....providing I can find a news article about it that isn't dripping with love for the perp and an unhidden anti death penalty agenda. Such articles have been pretty hard to find......

Why is this man not dead?
Sometimes a life sentence makes soooo much sense. Particularly if the criminal has only one eye. It’s hard to sleep with one eye open if you only have one eye.

Ya know, sometimes a rough justice does prevail.
Excellent point, although I'm not sure whether the families of his victims would agree. While he gets "a cot and three hots" a day and all the TV he cares to watch, their lives have been brutally turned upside down.
Don’t get me wrong. I am for the death penalty. In fact, I support the 2 cent solution. When a killer is convicted, he should be taken out behind the courthouse. A .22 caliber pistol is placed behind the right ear and the trigger is pulled. Higher calibers would be more effective, but too good for these creatures. A .22 bullet costs about 2 cents retail.
