Winner Of Presidential Christmas Ad Is Ron (Chuck Norris: Yes, THAT Ronald Reagan Alert)

So the question is: who won the Christmas culture ad war? My answer will probably surprise you: Ronald Reagan.

One of my pastors recently shared with me a video of Reagan, who reminded us on Dec. 23, 1981, of the real reason for Christmas season – during a time when political correctness wasn’t as much a part of the packaging. In a nationally televised Christmas proclamation from the White House, Reagan declared:

At this special time of year, we all renew our sense of wonder in recalling the story of the first Christmas in Bethlehem nearly 2,000 years ago.

Some celebrate Christmas as the birthday of a great and good philosopher and teacher. Others of us believe in the divinity of the Child born in Bethlehem, that he was and is the promised Prince of Peace. Yes, we questioned why he who could perform miracles chose to come among us as a helpless babe, but maybe that was his first miracle, his first great lesson that we should learn to care for one another.

Tonight, in millions of American homes, the glow of the Christmas tree is a reflection of the love Jesus taught us. Like the shepherds and wise men at that first Christmas, we Americans have always tried to follow a higher light, a star, if you will. At lonely campfire vigils along the frontier, in the darkest days of the Great Depression, through war and peace, the twin beacons of faith and freedom have brightened the American sky. At times, our footsteps may have faltered, but trusting in God's help, we've never lost our way. ...

So let this holiday season be for us a time of rededication. Christmas means so much because of One Special Child. …

Mike Huckabee didn't start commemorating Christmas. Guess who really drew attention to it over a quarter of a century ago: Ronald Reagan. Chuck Norris points out Reagan's stand on the Christmas question isn't all that different from Mike's. So let Americans quit complaining about the Christ reference and being enjoying the true neaning of the holiday.

I can tell you who the loser was. Hillary Clinton. That is quite possibly the worst TV ad from a Presidential Candidate ever. It comes across as arrogant and condescending. In an era where everyone is furious with politics as usual, Hillary’s ad could not of been more tone deaf.

I hardly think Ronald Reagan was the first politician to issue a commemoration for Christmas

Hillary's ad couldn't have been more appropriate--for Hillary. Anyone who believes this witch (oops, wrong holiday) and votes for her must believe in Santa Claus if they believe she can deliver all these "gifts".

They are delusional and that is what it takes to vote for a Democrat.

This isn’t a Christmas ad, but it is an appropriate ad for the season, 30 seconds of gratitude from 2003.
