"I have lived in the Middle East and a prayer call has a very different feel to church bells and I personally found the noise extremely unpleasant, rather disturbing and very alien to the western mindset."

You can say that again. Always sounded like H. Ross Perot singing in tongues to me.

I’d love to go to Mecca with a megaphone and recite the Lord’s Prayer...My death would be swift (at least I hope, with those Barbarians) and I’d be a martyr!

LOL!! H. Ros Pee-Rot...and can we ever forget his “running mate”? Phil Hartman had a dead-on impression...no pun intended! The world is not as funny of a place without him...he was hysterical!

I don’t suppose any Muslim would mind if they broadcast the Lord’s Prayer before and a Hail Mary after the cacaphony?

Waddabout: 'here pig pig piggy pig here here piggy' blasted at the same time as their 'prayer' calls?

And lest we forget Dana Carvey’s Dead-on impression of H. Ross himself...

Wouldn’t it be better to bring back Richard the Lionhearted and post his image, bill-board style, at the entrance to each city in America?

I don’t see that everyone has the right to broadcast noise into the area at will, or?

Spot on, these Muslins want to get your "western mindset" right. Capitulate and kowtow.

In another generation you will be the "alien"

Am I correct in stating that in the UK, there still is officially a state religion -- Anglicanism. After all, Her Majesty is "Fidei Defensor" _- Defender of the Faith. So the Government can decide that Islam is a cult and boot the buggars out.

Wouldn’t it be way less intrusive for all observant Muslims to carry a personal communication device that is set on “vibrate” when the hour of prayer is at hand? Those of us who are NOT Muslim, and never intend to be, would find this a much better public-relations tactic than blasting out an overwhelming cacaphony at fixed intervals.

They could, but that's not the point

The purpose of the call to prayer, and the tall minarets, is to mark all the territory within hearing of the call and sight of the minaret as being Muslim territory, and to indicate to all infidels within range that they are in Muslim turf

That is the BEST IDEA I’ve ever heard!!! I LOVE IT!!! ;-) We need to remember where we came from - a once proud and noble sovereignty called “Great Britain”, with its rich and noble history and I hope still our staunchest Allies, based on CHRISTIANITY! I just don’t get Libbie Leftists...I really don’t...

This is exactly what they want - upset the American non-muslims and change the culture of this nation. America, your goose is cooked.
And they won’t have to worry about public-relations; they know that we will lose that battle anyway as we bend backwards and forwards fawning over Islam. And these are the so-called ‘moderates’ among the Muslims.

So the minarets will arise over Oxford despite Charles Martel. So much for the sneers of Gibbon, then.

Oh Dear, you’re scaring me! I’ve been in England for the past 3 years, going back to the States every year or so, and that scares the Hell out of me! The reason I say that is because I thought it was so bad in Britain, but my brother who lives in Florida and you are scaring the Hell out of me with what’s going on our own country! I NEVER thought we could be as bad as Britain...I am praying we don’t...where the Hell are we supposed to go? I need to pump out a white Christian baby Pronto!!!

Our pastor is right in everything he says. He is hitting all the right notes. He wants to be so reasonable, he is reasonable. It is a pity that he is so pathetic.

All his arguments are right and just, they are simply irrelevant. He does not even have a glimmer of understanding that he has brought this upon himself with his own policies. It is probably now too late.

Oh I do not mean that he might not prevail on the issue of the clamor for prayers broadcast piercingly through the pastor's serenity, I mean that he is in a demographic war. He is unaware has even been declared. Much like most of America who failed to react to Pat Buchanan's cultural war speech in the 1988 Republican convention when they let the enemy steal the offensive in the cultural war and now they are bitter and impotent. The pastor is in a war to the finish for the survival of his genteel oh so politically correct world. A lamb to the slaughter.

He wanted a multicultural world, and now, by God, he has got it.
