Iran plans to buy Russian helicopters, fighter engines

MOSCOW: Moscow and Tehran are in negotiations for the sale of fighter jet engines and helicopters to Iran, the Kommersant daily reported on Monday, citing Russian arms industry officials.

Iran wants to buy RD-33 engines for a fleet of new Iranian fighter jets, as well as an upgraded version of the Ka-32 helicopter that Tehran wants to be assembled in Iran, Kommersant said.

Maybe sometime in the future when all those countries that are doing war are nonexistent and the market goes POOF for Russian arms maybe they will make a decent car.

This might be the old Soviet stuff waiting on the docks since the sanctions came down on Saddam. I remember reading that some of the T-72s in the first Gulf conflict had defective armor around their fuel tanks which made them even more vulnerable.
