This is a common misdirection. Most certainly, the Jews, Christians and Muslims do NOT share the same ‘Book’. The Muslims believe that Abraham was to sacrifice Ishmael, not Isaac. Parts of the Koran (the Abraham Isaac Ishmael item) appear to have similar but different sources than the Jewish and Christian compendiums.

Unfortunately there are no Moslems with whom that possibility can be discussed since they believe the text was handed down, as is, by God.

Whatever critical analysis that can be made of the Koran it will have to be performed by non-Moslems not living in Moslem countries.

On top of what you mention, the Muslims cut out over 1000 years of Jewish history -- Miriam the sister of Moses and Mary the mother of Jesus (same name in Hebrew) are identified as the same person.

It sounds like the sort of thing an illiterate would make up who had heard the Bible stories second hand. As in fact it is.
