Far too many idiotic statements there to choose from.

Someone ought to tell this bozo that Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty was the “Marshall Plan for the poor.” Does he really want another War on Poverty considering the WoP created many of the problems the “rev” seems to want to the federal government to fix...or at least to pay for.

"... "San Francisco officials have a moral obligation to try and stop black residents from abandoning the city..."

Too bad the opposite is every San Francisco liberals' secret dream, Reverend Brown.

Trust me on this one. I lived there eight years.

People compete for low income housing?

Right, this story is beyond logic and reason....but it is San Francisco and with a tourist attraction like the Folsom Street Fair, anything is possible.

I would guess the lottery was used to prevent favoritism in allocating housing.

Poor Mr. (rev) Brown (aka Nagin west) everybody is in such a hurry to leave they forgot to ask his permission... sorry dude ...

Brown should tell Newsome to cede SF from the USA and establish a walled country where residents are not allowed to leave — The Pink Iron Curtain .

One would wonder what the state of the “black community” would be if conservatives had been in charge for the last 40 years instead of a bunch of liberal/communist compassionates?

Yes. San Francisco Liberals, please show us the way. Show us how to cure homelessness and end racism and intolerance. You are the “enlightened ones”, we need you to show us how well your progressive approaches will work.

Scattershooting while wondering what San Francisco does with the nearly 22% tax on overnight hotel parking I/everyone was/is charged on parking?

Maybe use some of that coinage to deal with the militant homeless population?

A couple years ago I nearly had to take out one homeless dude with an elbow to the nose when he started to put his hand on my shoulder, attempting a shake down.

Such a plan would favor black contractors for city projects, he said, and reserve 75 percent of low-income housing slots for needy African Americans.

I dare anyone to step up and tell me how this plan is not racist.

Of course, in 'Frisco, the American version of Sodom, two wrongs always make a right and two homosexuals make a happy family.

"San Francisco officials have a moral obligation to try and stop black residents from abandoning the city and should consider a local version of the Marshall Plan to help African Americans, the Rev. Amos Brown, president...

O, ye of little brain.

How many more programs designed to "help" black residents is it going to take before you realize that it is precisely those programs that are driving up the cost of living there.

Programs don't administer themselves, it takes a bureaucracy. Beauracracies take people. It takes money to hire people. It takes taxes to bring in the money to hire those people. It takes businesses to bring in revenues.

It takes higher prices for businesses to offset the taxes it takes to hire those people. The higher the prices, the fewer things people can afford.

The fewer things people can afford, the less they can buy. The less they buy, the lower the revenues those taxes bring in.

You starting to see a pattern develop here, Rev. Brown?

More programs is not the solution. Fewer programs is.

If the black population dwindles to near zero in San Fran, then won’t the elitist white liberals who run the city open themselves to the accusation that they are running the ‘whitest big city in America’?

Perfect.

See, it’s things like this that’ll keep me from seeing Giants home games in person—but not Giants road games. :)

Well, among other things, but it gets stranger by the day in the City.
