Consensus trumps science every time......

‘short time frame’, heck man has only been on this planet for a short period of time. And to suggest that human beings have to power to cause global climate change is absurd. That about if energy that we produce is minuscule compared to the sun’s output.

Obviously it’s Global Dimming that is causing the slowdown. Please try to keep up with the latest in desperate justification.

The Earth's temperatures have held steady since 2001, says a veteran science writer, a pattern that raises questions about the intense efforts under way to stem the impact of greenhouse gases.

Heretic!

Burn him at the stake!!!

That'll make more carbon, thus more global warming!

That'll show him!!!!

Kyoto was negotiated in 1997 and Global Warming stopped in 1998.

Coincidence? I think not!

(PS. I am not this stupid. I am being sacrastic)

Global warming wouldn’t have allowed us to live the way we do.

I <3 global warming.

The truth is that the world owes thanks to me for stopping Global Warming. I spent a fortune buying enough carbon offsets to cover every man, woman and child (yes even the poor) in the world.

While a few posted comments to the Web site applauding his skepticism, others said factors such as melting glaciers and rising sea levels had to be taken into account.

Uh...what rising sea level?

Scientists believe those gases absorb outgoing infrared radiation from the Earth's surface, causing heat to be retained.

Real scientists, esp. ones with any actual knowledge of physics, know this is 100% junk "science." Why? CO2 absorbs IR radiation only in a few narrow frequency bands, and the CO2 present in the atmosphere absorbs 100% of those frequencies in the first dozen or so yards of atmosphere. You would have to remove about 99% of the CO2 in the atmosphere to stop ANY of those frequencies from being absorbed completely by the atmosphere -- and then all the plants would be dead (and us along with them).

The working hypothesis of global warming remains a good one, says Mr. Whitehouse

He's too smart to believe this, but he's probably just just picking his fight here -- not taking on the mythology of the AGW mechanism because attacking the end result is easier. As explained above, the "working hypothesis" is 100% bullpucky that flies in the face of known phyics.

While the left sneers at those holding religious beliefs, they create their own religion lead by a divinity school dropout spewing supposed science with dishonest data to support their god of global warming.

"Holes in Global-Warming Theory Put Mitigation Effort at Risk"

LOL! What dummkopfs!

If there is no global warming, the mitigation efforts are completely irrelevant. The goal, even for the Warmingingers, is to stop the Warming, not implement "mitigation efforts". This headline simply proves these people are complete fools.

But it reveals a mindset. The focus is on control. The focus is to get these controls over people, over economies through, not whether their is any global warming or whether the "mitigating efforts" have any effect at all. The focus is CONTROL. (ie, growing fascism as Ron Paul said was happening)

Quick quick, plug the gaping hole in the THEORY of global warming.

I wonder how those who stand to loose will react? What will an environmentalist group making millions do? What shall the political leaders tied to this topic do?

Well, you can come up with quick half baked theories as to why for six years there has been this lull in temperature increases. You can of course attack Mr. Whitehouse and portray him as being “on the take” by big business. You can launch a counter campaign that with more money, over powers the message with louder, more frequent, and diversified media releases pushes these people into obscurity. It’s the person who can create the perception of reality that owns the policy maker and gets their hands into the cookie jar.

From: Acid rain, DDT, the dangers of cell phones, high power lines, microwave ovens, the coming ice-age, ozone hole, baby seals, the imminent extinction of the blue whale or polar bear, there is always some save the planet “fad” which is nothing more than a marketing genius of some organizations, that not much unlike those who invented the pet rock, stand to gain by selling you nothing. The media, predominantly championing any liberal cause can always be relied upon as aiding and abetting in such nonsense. Once the “fad” picks up momentum and political capital can be made, the politician will jump on the bandwagon and suck it dry for all it’s worth. This is where things begin to get stupid, because now in a vacuum of real science, public policy is made that runs against the net benefit of society and our nation. You end up with things like the German Gruener Punkt or in the US the legislation of ethanol that by law will require ever greater amounts blended into gasoline in the future. The layperson does not grasp the depth of these decisions but does years later wonder why his beef (cattle is largely corn base fed) is going up. Great ideas that half baked sound good and make everyone feel good. However, there is a reason why the US will cease near all corn exports to starving third word nations, why the cost of your food at the grocer will climb, and why in the end, you won’t do any good for the environment either. But don’t you “feel good?” Shallow feel good policy that often gets broad public support especially when it’s a soft topic that is perceived as having no impact for the consumer or is victimless often enjoys broad public support. “If it’s not my money, it’s OK by me.” However, in the end it seldom works or achieves much, may it be security, environmental, or economic concerns and often there is a real cost, people just are not aware of it. So, was DDT really the cause of the bird egg shells thinning? No. Did the broad ban on DDT cause a surge in Malaria in parts of the world? Yes. But is this story told? No. Who would stand to gain from that?

But in the meantime, there are many who stand to gain in various ways by pushing their global warming agenda.
