Rumor circulating on the Fred08 blog that there is going to be a major "surprise" announcement coming this morning.

Perhaps an NRA endorsement or a major political figure?

Perhaps Romney has the backing of his $300 million net wealth, and those who made him wealthy? There will be favors to repay because no politician gets so wealthy by just signing on to state law.

Go Fred!

It’s going to be Romney vs. Obama in the National Election.

That would be sad: No one for a Conservative to support in the general.

"I don't see how anyone could possibly oppose Mitt. No matter what your beliefs are, he's agreed with you at one time or another. :=)"

LOL. I'm going to use that quote on a couple of my relatives who are Mitt supporters! I will do it over the phone for my safety, of course!

I delivered Christmas presents yesterday, and the point that Fred CAN NOT WIN was made a bit too belligerently for me to say it in person! lol.

That would be a Merry Christmas indeed, and not too late for Russian Christmas, either.

"The MSM is not the selecting force. The people cast the votes."

The people cast votes for candidates selected by MSM, with a few additions- Fred, DH, and Tancredo.

“For the life of me I can’t understand how Romney is still in the race.”

Because Mitt spent $50,000,000 of his daddy’s money getting elected -— and he is pretty and an unusually good liar.

If we are speculating on the announcement, I am going with good fund raising numbers for the quarter.

Rush stated following one of the debates that the candidate that came across to him as the real conservative on the stage (among the top four/five candidates) was Fred Thompson. Now Rush said he does not endorse candidates during the primary, and only did so back in 2000 because it got down to Bush or McCain. Rush then came out for President Bush because he did not view McCain as conservative enough. By the way, Mark Bellings is sitting in for Rush today and tomorrow. Mark happens to be a strong Fred Thompson supporter. GO FRED! :)

Just about every statement made by Mittwitts on here are choreographed by talking points to disparage the other candidates. With Fred its always that he can't win, he's too old, too tired, too ugly, lacks energy. Its very transparent.

The Willard fan who made repeated spam postings about pole dancing (with pictures!) has been banned and the posts deleted.

There are, however, plenty of witnesses.

Could be Grassley endorsement? Grassley has served w/Thompson and still serves w/McCain. He’s quite popular in Iowa. If you recall in ‘04, a last minute endorsement by the governor’s wife (subtly in lieu of the gov himself) is what made the difference for Kerry.

OK, at least one FReeper took your response to my comment incorrectly, I just wanted to mention that. Peace and carry on...

For the life of me I can't understand how Romney is still in the race.

It's because Mitt is a very, very good liar. He can lie with a straight face, and he fools a lot of people. Eventually, just about everybody will hear a position-of-the-week in which he agrees with them, and will think he's on their side.

You don’t have to be a “mittwitt” to think Thompson looks tired.
