Your information is without a doubt dated. The only "safe" areas now are near the inner harbor and along the water to Canton, South Baltimore and the center section along Charles St is not bad, but property crime is rampant there. The rest is pretty dang dangerous, and its creeping into the suburbs

The inner harbor isn't safe in the least. It just gives that impression because it doesn't look like it was firebombed last week. Our last trip down to the IH my family got stalked - some shiftless guy who followed our every turn, walking when we walked, stopping when we stopped. He was probably after the purses or maybe even trying to follow us back to our car. As for the burbs and the counties, anywhere the mass-transit lines go, Baltimore follows...

Safe relatively, but not from property crime. More like other cities, I should say. But no matter, your point is taken. The only way you could clean up Baltimore would be if you did what they did in New Orleans; drive out as many disfunctional people as you can, and keep them out. Sorry to say.

Yeah, I went down to the Inner Harbor a couple weeks ago for Army/Navy. My 9 year old son and I took the light rail out of Owings Mills - this was before the recent attacks against whites on MTA. After the crowds had toured the toys that Army and Navy had brought in for the event the area emptied out.

I went inside the Galleries about noon and the stores were literally empty - just a couple weeks before Christmas. It was creepy.

I used to ride the rails into work and thought it might be fun for my boy - a little adventure. No thanks! I’ll never take a family member onto Maryland Mass Transit again.
