Until this posting, I have not seen nor even heard the “word” Kwanzaa this season.
Does it have something to do with a 'Pole' and having strong feet?
Our PBS station had something about cooking a Kwanzaa feast this afternoon. It was mostly New Orleans/Cajun/Creole fare.(yummy!)
Yep, I think the whole Kwanzaa thing has pretty much peaked.
My kids came home from school with bracelets that had kwanzaa beeds on them. I am wary of it, but since I know my school, I know they aren’t pushing anyting on them. After asking them, they didn’t even know what it meant.
Now that you mention it......neither did I.
Amazingly, I’ve never met a black person that celebrates it either....must be SOME out there, but I’ve yet to find one.
And the guy tacked on another “a” to the Swahili word just so that it would contain seven letters, which was the number of members in the original “congregation”.
Same here. I was waiting for the obligatory pictures of this phony celebration in our local paper(s) and they never appeared. Good riddance.
Me too. Actually, I just looked at my calendar, and this is the first day of Kwanzaa.
Go Figure.
On the second day of Kwanzaa Karenga gave to me
Two Jaily birds,
And a Marxist in a red tree.
On the third day of Kwanzaa Karenga gave to me
Three Dixie Chicks.
Two Jaily birds,
And a Marxist in a red tree.
On the fourth day of Kwanzaa Karenga gave to me
Four Lenin busts.

On the fifth day of Kwanzaa Karenga gave to me
Five fel-on-ies.

On the sixth day of Kwanzaa Karenga gave to me
Six Castro jumpsuits.
