We have had ENOUGH of so called COMPASSIONATE conservatism for the last seven years! I personally hope Huck places at the bottom, near Ron Paul. That would be nice. He needs to be rebuked strongly by conservative/pro-border voters.

“superslick TV commercials in Idaho”
Why Idaho?
BTW, I live in Idaho, and I didn’t see any of those commercials.

He is a populist, like Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Hewey Long. Who is "Hewey" Long?

So if I’m reading this article by James Lewis correctly he’s strongly hinting that the Clinton’s have been bankrolling Huckabee’s run.

The trouble is that the United States has never elected a preacher as presidenNot since Wilson, anyway. Use Wilson and Sunday School teacher Carter for range of possibilities.

He did it with superslick TV commercials in Idaho and New Hampshire, from a campaign that is supposed to have no money.Obviously he did have the money to pay for these TV ads. Any idea from whence it came?

The last Big Hype candidate who couldn't win was Ross Perot. He got 4 percent of the vote in 1992, just enough to put Bill Clinton in the White House. And shrewd old Ross ran just like Huckabee, talking up the populist vote. Ross dropped his Reform Party like a hot potato when he was done with it. Big mistake in this article (you wonder if magazines and publishing houses have editors anymore): Ross Perot got 18.9% of the popular vote in 1992 -- and I'm sure Dr. Ron Paul has also revisited the Perot "phenomenon". But otherwise, this seems to be a good take on the Old Huckster.

He's just another in a line-up of lightweights in the continuing saga of "Desperately Seeking Reagan."
Throw enough feces on the wall and see who "resonates" with the voters. I see that this week the preferred candidate de jour of the MSM and establishment is McCain. Yawn.
