We'll all see about Fred soon enough, won't we? It's funny, but in the recent FR poll, I voted for Fred. When he first came on the scene, it seemed like a good idea. But it just ain't happening. IMO, Fred needed to be in Iowa much earlier, in time for the straw poll. Had he done so, and had he beaten Huckabee there, he'd have the momentum now.

Instead, at the time, Fred was busy hiring and firing campaign staffers, setting up a website, and Huck stole his thunder by coming in second in the straw poll. Now Fred's fighting for 3rd place in Iowa, with no shot at NH or MI. So he'll be limping into SC where, last I checked, he's trailing.

Anyway, it's too bad. Because I don't like Rudy. The more I learn about Romney, the less I like him. Huckabee makes me want to hurl. It's an ugly looking field. I'm afraid we may end up with Huckabee.

Thompson’s banking on the belief that this thing will not be settled early, as everyone assumes. I agree with this premise under the banner of the Law Of Unintended Consequences. And if events like what happened in Pakistan today continue to unfurl, the Thompson character traits which now frustrate so many will be the very traits people will crave in times of crises.
