Two hikers in their 20's were murdered in a terror attack at Telem Spring, near Adora.
The two were part of a group of young people from Kiryat Arba who had gone hiking to the spring, a secluded nature spot.
According to Channel 10, an all-terrain vehicle drove up next to them and a terrorist who was inside opened fire, killing two youths. A woman who was with them managed to hide and save herself.
There were also reports that the hikers shot back at the attackers and wounded one of the terrorists. The Red Crescent reportedly evacuated the Arab casualty to a nearby hospital.
The young woman phoned Kiryat Arba's Magen David Adom emergency services at about 12:00 noon Friday and alerted them to what had happened. Despite her traumatized state she guided the emergency crews as well as IDF forces to the place where the attack occurred. It took the forces a while to locate her, however.
'The victims of Annapolis' The newly-formed Hatikva party responded to the murderous attack, and said: "The victims of Annapolis who were gunned down today in Har Hevron died as a direct result of the terrorists' daring, which increases the more Olmert and Livni court the chairman of the Palestinian terror authority, Abu Mazen."
Terror victim's organization Almagor sent a message to the Israeli cabinet following the attack, MK Ariel: the murders were "additional proof of how the Arab terror raises its head the moment it recognizes weakness." and asked it to return the roadblocks it removed from Judea and Samaria's roads "instead of discussing relaxation of the criteria for releasing terrorists."
Besides the pressing need to replace the roadblocks, Almagor said, such a move "would convey a proper message to the terror groups in the wake of the murder."
MK Uri Ariel (NU/NRP) said that the murders were "additional proof of how the Arab terror raises its head the moment it recognizes weakness and willingness to compromise" on the Israeli side. "The Prime Minister's announcements about releasing terrorists, freezing construction and supervision of tenders in Jerusalem give terror a boost," he said.
My favorite poster at my cube is a cocked 1911 with the words "Most people understand reason, compassion and dignity. THE REST UNDERSTAND THIS."
Sorry, I don’t know how I managed to post that to the wrong thread.

I'm sure Red Crescent turned the murderer over to authorities after treatment. They're ready for a state after all, and that's what civilized nations do with murderers. More likely, they'll hold a parade in his honor.

Two killed in shooting attack near Hebron in the West Bank
Two Israelis from Kiryat Gat were shot and killed in an attack in the West Bank on Friday, police said.
According to Israel Radio, the two men, both in their 20s, were hiking through the hills outside Hebron with another woman when they were approached by a jeep carrying several Palestinians, who opened fire on them. The woman fled and hid while the other two, who were armed, returned fire. In the exchange of fire that ensued, one of the terrorists was reportedly killed and others were apparently wounded, before the two Israelis were themselves shot dead.
The attackers then fled the scene, and the woman managed to contacted rescue services and inform them of what had transpired. However, rescue forces had difficulties in locating the place of the attack and consequently arrived at the scene almost an hour later. The woman was lightly wounded and was suffering from shock.
Police were searching for the perpetrators, and it was not yet clear which terrorist organization was behind the attack.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian was reported killed and another badly wounded in a nearby village. Early reports suggested that the event was unconnected to the shooting attack and was probably the result of family feuds.
Earlier, a Palestinian was arrested at an IDF checkpoint near the Hebron's Jewish quarter when a large knife was found in his possession, the military said.
Well, good. It would have been better if the two Israelis had survived, but that they drew blood from their attackers is a good thing. May it happen every time.
Hikers in Judea murdered? Would this be the work of the People’s Front of Judea, or those splitters the Judean People’s Front?
I just had to do that. Couldn’t help myself.
Olmert, Rice, Bush, -big deal, they were in “the west bank”, they got what they deserved.
Apparently the two Israeli hikers were IDF soldiers on leave. Two of the attackers are now dead, according to Pali sources.
If there is any good news here, it's that (1) the hikers were armed and were able to save the life of their female companion and (2) at least two of the Palis were killed.
I would agree that terrorists are emboldened in general by the spectacle of Annapolis. But, barring some unlikely admission from the terrorist group that perpetrated this heinous attack, it would be impossible to determine if this specific event was motivated by the Olmerde regime's weakness.
Let's see if Abbas denounces the terrorists, and more importantly, he takes action against the perps and their terror cell. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for this to happen.
Israel breaking news ping!
If he does it will be full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
But there is good news from Jpost!

Exactly so..
Americans need to know more about Haym Salomon.
True, but there is no connection between Haym Salomon and the subjects discussed in this thread, other than the fact that Haym Salomon was Jewish.
Now that the IDF went into the Pali hospital looking for perps, it’s only a matter of time before the usual suspects start to rant about “Israeli violations of human rights.”
Probably true, except that when Jews are killed by terrorists it’s somehow just par for the course; but if a Jew defends himself, he is somehow painted as in the wrong. Haym Salomon was treated in the usual way that Jews seem to be treated, with all that he gave having been taken for granted and forgotten in American history. So, everything is ultimately connected.
