if this is even true. this kid is a disgrace to my fellow brothers serving in iraq.
What are the rules (if any) for active-duty military doing something like this? I’m just curious why he wouldn’t stamp his name on it (IF it is real).
Obviously they are still Americans and should have a right to endorse whomever they wish, but is there any kind of restriction on political speech in the military? Particularly while at war?
yes there is. you are subject to UCMJ (uniform code of military justice)action for statements you makes about your commanders, including the president...he is your highest ranking commander.
you are also not allowed to assemble and protest in uniform like i see these veterans against the war.
i cant stand people who hide behind their veteran status as if its a license to say and do whatever you want.
whats even more sad, is supposedly hes an officer. he should know better.
Honestly, to me it sounds just as fake as the various “Letters from Iraq” that have popped up in the media since 2003, whether to support or to attack the current Administration.
I don’t often tread in the “American politics” section because it’s not my place to comment on how Americans campaign or vote, but I wonder : supposing such letters are fake, is it legit to impersonate generic soldiers and therefore give the impression the Army thinks this way or that way ?
Have you ever heard of: Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Normandy, Messina, or Bastogne? Our troops fought for and sometimes died to defend America's Constitution in all of those places and in countless others.
If Ron Paul cannot squeeze an understanding of this historical truth into the space currently occupied by his oversized ego, he does not deserve to be taken seriously by anyone.
The first glaring problem I see is the HUGE ASSUMPTION that Iraqi infrastructure was operating in the first place (before we attacked)....not true... very, very small areas had anything close to reliable services (mostly only presidential palaces). most everyone in the country had very un-reliable if any services...
I only spent 13 months in Iraq. We need to be there, we are winning, we will be there till the job is done. Fred Thompson is the man for me

Excellent point.
Just a compilation of the tired Liberal cliches and questionable assumptions the old hippies and their acolytes have been trying to foist on the U.S. since the war began.
This one pegs the BS meter. This is a “fake” from a phony soldier. In all my years in the military,I have never encounter someone who would count its JROTC and ROTC time as “time in uniform”.
When did commissioned officers in the military start writing in the style of DU posters?
Now all you need to do is send 100 letters to each state! :-)
Short answer:
In warfare, the best defense is a strong offense.
NOTHING has provided more “defense”, Dr. Paul, then the US military’s pre-emptive and thorough kicking of jihadist ass in their own backyard.
Nothing.
This smells really fake. He’s going to send 100 of these letters to random primary voters in EACH state before their primary? 5000 letters? If he’s working such long days, how’s he got time? Or money? Doesn’t sound plausible.
