Sharif is losing the election, so he (1) attacks Mu and pretends he is to blame for Bhutto's death, instead of the terrorist nutjobs who killed her (2) tells his party to boycott the election, so when he gets none of the vote he can say it was because he told them not to vote for him (3) calls on Mu to cancel the vote, because the PPP winning easily would discredit him (4) demands Mu step down because even Mu is more popular than he is right now. Sharif is pathetic, he hasn't got a future in Pakistan, he is just making trouble.

The elections should go ahead, the PPP will win a majority and should form a government. Mu should stay on as president. Anyone directing their fire at other pols should be anthema to the people. And oh yeah, Mu should send a full corps into Waziristan to kick butts and take names, it is the most popular thing he could do right now. He should also purge the ISI. Now is the time to use popular anger to inflict maximum damage on the Islamicists, and make their name mud.
