Robert Novak reports on a massive polling effort that surveyed 15,000 pledged attendees of the Iowa caucuses. Unlike the Los Angeles Times and Bloomberg, whose partnership could only dig out 174 such subjects, the poll results seem much more predictive -- in their own way (via Memeorandum):
While public polls show Mike Huckabee leading Mitt Romney in Iowa, a new survey of an oversized sample shows Huckabee slipping and no longer ahead of Romney.
A private corporate interest commissioned a phone bank survey of 15,000 Iowans who say they will attend Republican presidential caucuses Jan. 3.

Huckster needs to go, he is simply not ready to stand up to any of the Dems.
Lightweight would be a kind word for him.

Huckabee Slipping
By Robert Novak
***********************EXCERPT**************************
Numbers for both Huckabee and Romney dipped sharply when Iowans were asked their second choice. In contrast, McCain was the leading second-choice candidate for both Huckabee and Romney voters.
DOLE VS. HUCK
Unexpected late intervention by Bob Dole in the Iowa Republican caucuses confirms that Mike Huckabee may have blundered by assailing President George W. Bush's "arrogant bunker mentality" in international affairs.
"Why have you joined the 'Bush bashers'?" Dole asked in a letter to Huckabee that he made public. Dole, until now neutral in the 2008 contest, called Huckabee's critique of Bush policy in Foreign Affairs magazine a "perfect example of 20-20 hindsight."
See #3...Robert Dole comes alive.
All of these polls are just a reflection of potential voter’s preferences, Iowa will hinge upon voter turn out. Who has the best on the ground machine? Romney?
Does Huckabee have any thing on the ground?...
I suspect it is Romney.
I think a lot of Huckabee's support will be going to Fred Thompson and some to McCain.
I can't comprehend voting for McCain, though he seems to be hanging in there somehow.
I seriously question this poll. Whom did they call — libs? The poll indicates that Fred Thompson is at 1%.
Baloney!!!!!!!!!
Hey, now.....what about that juggernaut ground game of Ron Paul?
:-)
No, it’s a scientific poll of conservative Republican voters.
It looks like Romney will not only win Iowa, but the whole enchilada.
Yes, and I just conducted a scientific poll of 60 million Americans, funded by a private corporate interest (of no concern to you) and found that Hillary Duff will win the whole burrito.
This poll sample size is interesting, especially as it purports to have polled approximately 1/5 of all Republican voters in an Iowa caucus. And by "interesting," I mean "wrong" or "dishonest" or "made up."
I believe the “burrito” is the prize for the Democrat winner
This entire poll smells funny to me. I’d like to see the details on the underlying methodology and questions. It does not mesh with any of the known polling companies results.
I guess we’ll find out on 1/3.
Nah ... they just called the same 150 voters 100 times each.
Huckabee has surged because he won a couple of debates and hes got evangelical support. If a quick rise can happen to the liberal pro-life evangelical Huckster, it can happen to the conservative pro-life evangelical Hunter.

According to Intrade, the winner of the December 12th GOP debate was... Duncan Hunter.

In this poll Hunter is up 3% and even with Paul and Thompson.
