If you get out of the mindset of buying a new car, you can let somebody else take the huge initial years’ depreciation. We bought a three year old loaded Eddie Bauer Expedition w 45,000 miles for about $18,000 a couple years ago, just less than half of the new price. Other than being a monstrous gas hog, it’s a great vehicle.
