If true then this order roughly doubles the backlog on the 787.

Should mean a better economy for WA if the politicians don't kill Boeing first.

I think they meant 79 not 790! Still a good size order.

What’s one of the 787s estimated to go for? That’s a huge order.

USA Today

http://www.usatoday.com/travel/flights/2007-12-27-ba-787-order_N.htm

CHICAGO (AP) — Boeing Co. said Thursday it finalized a deal with British Airways, notching 790 orders for its long-awaited 787 Dreamliner plane during the last three years.
British Airways’ order for 24 Dreamliners gives the plane one of the industry’s most successful launches ever_ even though the airliner has yet to take flight.

The Chicago-based aerospace company expects to fly the first 787 around the end of the first quarter of 2008 and begin deliveries in late November or December. It expects to deliver 109 airplanes in 2009.

Someone may have started their holiday celebration a little early. Those numbers don’t look right.

Looks like the translation was lost somewhere. The BA order makes a total of 790 787 orders placed in total... pretty amazing for a plane that has yet to fly!

I wonder how much our weak dollar helped in getting this order?
